I went over to the throne room, questions that I had thought about in the week I had been inside the infirmary. I took a breath and walked into the throne room.
"Yes, Jace?"
"Mr King sir?"
"What do you want?"
"Why are you and the enemy kingdom fighting? What happened?"
"*sigh*. Okay. The enemy king is my brother. He used to be part of my kingdom, but he was jealous, so he learnt dark magic to curse me. I'm only 40, but he cursed me to stay 90 for 60 years. When I reach the total age of 100, i will die. He took my best soldiers and generals and brainwashed them."
I was not sure how to respond, so I said, "Oh. That sucks bro."
"What is bro?"
"It means, nevermind. Anyway, I have an idea. Your brother's kingdom should be around 10 miles away right?"
"Yes, why?"
"Well, 10 miles is not that much. More than an archer can shoot, but easy enough to run in about 2 hours. Leo could modify catapults to shoot them from about 2 miles away, and we could out gunpowder in those and make it so they only explode when it hits their castle."
"Well, that's not a bad idea."
"Yeah. Anyway, I do think it will take some time, s-"
BOOM! BOOM! CRACK! The side of the throne room broke open, revealing a chariot with a battering ram. The evil king was sitting there, cackling and holding a scepter.
"Get back!" I shouted at the king. There were archers right behind the chariot and they were aiming right at the king. I grabbed an aesthetic shield from the wall and hid behind it. I heard the releasing of arrows, then the arrows sinking into the shield, just barely nicking me.
"HAHAHA! Brother, seems like you got better fighters this time, brother."
"I HAVE NO BROTHER!" The king of Gloken shouted. Grabbing his sword from his scabbard, he charged at the archers. I flung the shield frisbee-style at the enemy king. I grabbed a spare sword and charged at the enemy king.
I tried stabbing him, but he seemed to be able to teleport in clouds of black smoke.Black Magic. When I actually managed to get close, I found that his swordsmanship skills was great. He could probably beat 2 of me without batting an eye, especially with his black magic and my sword not being good enough to cut butter.
He had me cornered.
