i don't exactly get how aluminum oxide dissolves with alkaline solutions but magnesium doesn't
well you see aluminum dissolves with alkaline solutions to form salt which alkaline contain OH ions in other words alkaline i known as an acid which on the other hand magnesium isn't exactly an acid solution.
