Magnus Chase's POV

It was dinner time at Valhalla and everything was normal. Halfborn and Mallory were flirting like normal, we discussed battle strategies and whatnot, and like always, we ate and drank. What was weird about today was that there was a rumor going around that Loki was snatching up gods left and right to use for something. It scared me to think of Loki taking hostage powerful gods like Odin or Thor. I shook my head to clear my mind and tried to focus on the conversation at hand.

"Sure it would be fun to just stab the newbies in the heart and watch the shocked expressions on their faces, but do you know how much damage that would to their brain?" Halfborn was saying, "I mean they just got here and have no idea why they are here and how they feel alive and where they are, so killing them would definitely scar there brain tissue"

"Ugg can you please stop talking like some kind of doctor, please? I want to see the terror on their faces when I slice their heads off or maybe even...." Mallory was saying but then Alex cuts her off.

"Guys look at the newbie today, they look like weak flesh and bone," He says (Yeah he is a guy today, IDK I can just tell these things).

"Like you were when you first got here," I say.

"Watch your mouth beantown or a decapitation will be coming your way," He says fiercely and glares at me while everyone else one floor nineteen laughs.

Then a raven flys past me quickly and drops a letter into my lap. Everyone looks at me expectedly and I up pick the letter from wear then dropped it. They all look at me with curiosity on their face because almost nothing happens worth paying attention to in Valhalla. But when Magnus Chase, the (kind of) wonderful, (kind of) brilliant, Magnus Chase gets a letter, everyone watches to see what it is for.

Dear Magnus Chase,

I have information about your father, Frey. Go to Midgard and I will find you and tell you what I know. This is very important that you come and find out because he may be in trouble.

From, Anonymous

I read my letter out loud for everyone to hear. My heart is racing in my chest. Information about my father, the last time I saw him in that weird dream-like thing, he told me I was hope for the nine worlds to fend off Ragnorak, and now he might be in trouble. I stand up quickly, making up my mind that I have to go to Midgard.

"I am going to Midgard," I say quickly and start to walk away.

Mallory jumps up, along with Halfborn, T.J., and Alex.

"Where going will you, someone bad is probably trying to set you up," T.J. says for everyone as they follow me towards the portal to Midgard.
