"Get that cat!" a man shouted running down the hallway chasing after the black and white cat.
"Get her!" A shaggy haired man yelled running down the hall behind the first guy.
Seeing the fluffy cat dash passed her, Harri sprang into action, cornering the cat who was wearing a rather sly grin on her face, she inched closer and closer trying not to scare the cat. The man with the dark mowhawk was close behind waiting to see if the cat was going to make another get away or if the girl in front of him was going to capture the cat first. The shaggy haired one was beside his friend waiting just as anxiously.
"Come here kitty." Harri coaxed slowly crouching down and moving even closer to the cat who was sitting licking her paws. "Come on, good kitty." She reached out, catching the cat around the middle and pulling her into her chest.
Standing up and turning to face the dark haired stranger, Harri smiled as she rubbed the cat's tummy; clearly she was enjoying this if her purring meant anything. Harri knew him as one of the guys who lived in the apartment down the hall, she saw him and his silver haired friend often, but she never spoke to them. She had seen the shaggy haired stranger a few times as well. They were always coming and going, carrying guitar cases and what not. Her roommate had concluded they were either in a band or smuggling drugs.
"Thanks for the help; my roommate would kill me if I'd lost her." The dark haired man said taking the cat and holding onto her tightly.
"No problem." Harri replied with a small smile.
Roommate? Huh, in the three weeks she'd been in this building she had assumed the two guys in 507 were a couple. At least to look at them it seemed as though they could easily be.
"I'm Mike Ayley and this is Tux; I live in 507 with my roommate Josh." Mike made the introduction, realizing that he hadn't done so in his panic to catch Josh's cat. "This is our friend, Matt Webb."
Awkwardly Matt waved.
"Harri Gesner. I live in 512, with my roommates Liam and Dawn." Harri returned the introduction.
"The blond girl, right?" Matt asked he seemed to perk up when Harri nodded.
He had seen her a few times when coming to visit Josh and Mike. Being awkward Matt never knew what to say, so the few times they were in the elevator together he stood staring at his feet.
"Sorry for yelling at you, the second you stepped outside the door." Mike apologized, still holding Tux. "Josh just really loves his cats and he'd freak if anything happened to them. Someone forgot to close the door when he came in." He glared at Matt.
"No big, it's the most excitement I've had since I moved to Vancouver." Harri laughed easily. "It's a trip to the mailbox I won't forget."
"Where did you move from?" Mike questioned.
He knew that apartment 512 had new people living in it, but he had never really bothered to find out more. Although if he asked Josh probably knew, Josh knew everything about everybody in the building which was creepy seeing as he talked to nobody. Then again, Josh had lived in the building for forever.
"We moved from the Maritimes." Harri answered with a shrug.
"So, are you coming to lunch with us or not? I'm starving." Matt interrupted.
