It's Okay To Cry (Ripnami)

A/N: This one shot takes place in book 8 (Escaping Peril) after Tsunami fly's after Scarlet for "killing" Queen Glory. In the book when Turtle asks where his sister went we learn that she and Riptide went out to try and find Scarlet. This one shot is taking place that night on the way to the Rain Forest Kingdom in Tsunami's perspective with Riptide.

They had been flying all day and had to stop to rest there wings, just there wings. They continued south to head to the rain forest, after Riptide convinced Tsunami that it was pointless to find Scarlet in the dark. Even though Tsunami put up a pretty good argument that they can see in that dark so it would be to there advantage at night, she gave in and they decided to head to the rain forest to see if Queen Glory was truly dead.

They had just entered the rain forest at about midnight and the humidity for the first time didn't annoy Tsunami to the point were she wouldn't shut up about it. She was just to sad. Glory was like a sister to her, and even though they were constantly fighting, deep down they loved each other. 

Riptide new how torn apart Tsunami felt. He would do anything to make her feel better but, what was there for him to do?

Riptide put one wing around Tsunami and said, "I know you don't want to hear this but, I think we need to rest-"

"No" Tsunami said cutting him off. "I will not stop until Scarlet's dead or Glory's alive."

Riptide looked over at Tsunami to see her head was down looking at the ground tears in her eyes, but she didn't cry. She would wipe the tears away or blink them away.

"It's okay to cry Tsunami. Even the toughest dragons cry when a loved one dies." Riptide assured her moving closer to her.

"Tell me one time you've seen Shark cry and we'll take a 5 minute break." Tsunami teased in the saddest voiced Riptide has ever heard from anyone.

"Ha, I guess your right" Riptide confessed, "but your not Shark. Your Tsunami, the funniest and most amazing dragon I have ever met." Riptide told her truthfully.

Tsunami smiled the tiniest bit, but Riptide still saw.

"There's that beautiful smile of yours" Riptide said and smiled at her.

Tsunami stopped and laid down near a tree. She put her head down on her front talons and tried her hardest not to cry. Riptide walked over to Tsunami sat down next to her. Tsunami sat up and placed her head on Riptides chest and cried. Riptide wrapped his wing tightly around her and rested his head on top of her head.

"I just can't be leave that this could happen to a dragon like Glory." Tsunami sobbed, "She's so strong and brave and smarter than Scarlet. And how can Deathbringer let this happen to her! It's not fair Riptide, it's not fair!"

"It's going to be okay Tsunami. Were going to find Scarlet and make her pay for what she's done." Riptide assured her.

"All these years i'v been so mean to her. We would fight about the stupidest things. Making fun of the Rainwings and how I'm more fit to be queen than she is, but that's not true. Shes the best thing that's happened to this tribe for years!" Tsunami cried.

"Tsunami you can't be mad at yourself for that. She new you weren't serious, she new how much you loved her and how much she loved you." Riptide told her truthfully.

"I know I just wish she was here, right now." Tsunami said in a calmer but still sad and teary voice.

"I know but right now, all we can do is hope that Scarlet tricked us into thinking that she died. And to be honest, I don't think the story adds up. We just have to rest and in the morning, we go see Deathbringer and hopefully Queen Glory will be there too. We just need to rest." Riptide told her.

Tsunami sniffed one last time and laid down. Riptide followed and laid down beside Tsunami with his wing still wrapped around her.

"I love you" Riptide whispered to Tsunami, looking straight into her eyes.

"I love you too, seaweed brain" Tsunami whispered back to Riptide, leaning into his chest.

They peacefully fell asleep in each others arms.
