It was suntime in the Rainforest Kingdom. Everyone was sleeping soundly in the sun dreaming colorful dreams. But, as for Queen Glory, she couldn't sleep. This isn't the first time she had trouble falling asleep, but it was the first time that she was all alone with Deathbringer on her platform. Of course he was not going to sleep anytime soon, he was just guarding her as usual.

Normally, Kinkajou, Jambu, and/or Grandeur were with her on the platform. But, Kinkajou was away at Jade Mountain, Jambu was with his friends, and Grandeur was with her friends. So, Queen Glory was alone with Deathbringer, who was keeping a close eye on her and their surroundings.

As Glory was bored out of her mind on the lone platform she got an idea. Something small that could entertain her for the time being.

Deathbringer was scanning the area looking for any suspicious activity when something flashed from under him.

He looked down at Queen Glory, confusion on what he just saw spread across his face. And when he went to look back up a flash of gold appeared and then disappeared as quick as a flash of lightning.

At this point Deathbringer knew that he hadn't imagined it and stared for a few moments. Then, suddenly, different flashes of different colors appeared and disappear in a blink of an eye.

All of this really confused Deathbringer and even made him wonder whether or not this was normal for a Rainwing to do. Should he get help? Should he wake her up? Should he wait for it to stop?

Just when Deathbringer was about to shake her awake her eyes bolted open.

"Deathbringer why are you staring so close to my face?" Queen Glory asked in a whisper, trying to keep a straight face.

"You, uh, your scales they, um, were shifting colors." Whispered Deathbringer trying to sound clam but his confusion made it difficult.

"Uh, maybe it has something to do with, I don't know, me being a Rainwing." Glory whispered back in an obvious tone, still trying hard not to laugh.

"No, I mean like really fast. Faster than it should. I've never seen a Rainwing that-" Deathbringer was cut off by Glory, who could no longer hold in her laughter. "And you were messing with me. Why am I not surprised?" Deathbringer asked shaking his head at her. "You know you really scared me there. For all I knew you could have had some color shifting rare Rainwing disease." Deathbringer whispered in a serious voice.

Glory, still laughing whispered back "Ya right, because shifting colors is sooo dangerous."

"Who knows it could be" Deathbringer whispered.

"It isn't," Glory whispered to him then added, "now stop acting like that tree over there is planning my murder and lie down with me." Glory said this as more of an order than a option.

"Glory you know I can't fall asleep while you-" Deathbringer tried but was then cut off by Glory, "I never said you had to fall asleep. Just lie down next to me. Please? I'm lonely." Glory said in a sad voice she knew would work on Deathbringer.

Deathbringer let out a sigh, "Fine, but just this once because you were lonely."

Deathbringer went over to the Queen's left side and lied down. Glory smiled and lay her head on his talons and drifted of to sleep. At this he smiled, and making sure he didn't move his arms at all, went back to surveying the forest, looking for anything that looked suspicious.

Making sure his love was safe was always his number one priority.
