I held the phone close to my ear as I panicked. Hearing the ringing buzz close to my ear as my heart thumped irregularly.

"Hello?" Hayes greeted.

"Hayes," I sighed in relief, "please come over."

"What's wrong Dani?" he asked.

"I can't tell you over the phone. Please just come," my voice began to crack.

"I'm coming," he said & dropped the call as I sat on the floor & looked at the terrifying contents in front of me.

"What's wrong?" Hayes asked as he burst through my bedroom door.

I started to cry as I looked up at him then looked back down on the contents on my carpet.

He gasped as he crouched down & examined it with peering eyes.

"Positive?" he asked as he picked up the stick.

I nodded my head as the tears continued to flow down my face.

"You're pregnant?" his lip quivered.

"I think so," I squeaked painfully.

"Is it mine?" he asked hesitantly.

I know why he was hesitant. He knew I had sex with Kyle. He just wanted to make sure. Most girls would've been offended but after knowing what I was doing, I knew I had no right to be.

"I don't know," I gulped hard.

He came & picked me up, sat me on my bed & sat next to me.

"Don't worry," he wrapped his arms around me & pulled me closer, "I've got you."

I broke down. Into a collection of tears as Hayes just kept holding me & didn't stop until I calmed down a bit.

"Are you gonna tell Kyle?" he asked.

"Should I?" I asked.

"Yes. I mean he is your boyfriend. I'm only a side," he explained. It kinda hurt. I wanted Hayes to be my boyfriend. I felt more for him than for I did for Kyle.

"But he'll get mad &," I stopped myself from speaking.

"What Dani? What will he do?" he asked, getting infuriated.

"He'll hit me. Kyle hits me Hayes. He hits me. Every time I mess up, he hits me. Every time he's mad at someone else, he hits me. Sometimes once. Other times he never stops. Are you happy now?" I looked at him with my sad weary eyes.

"Danica. You don't deserve that. You deserve to be treated like a princess & Kyle doesn't even know what he has. A beauty. A gem. An angel. Look Dani, I like you. I actually like you. I feel nothing for Jody anymore. I just have my eyes on you & the minute we can be together, damn it'll be the day. I swear I'll make sure that asshole Kyle will pay," his voice turned into fury.

"Hayes babe don't," I held his arm tightly.

"But what do you want me to do?" he asked.

"I've got this. Don't worry," I said & kissed him softly.
