"It's nice you're home for a change," I smiled at my mom as I swung my legs from the counter top.
"I just need a break honey. I'm sorry I'm so busy all the time," she sighed.
"It's okay mom. I get it," I nodded & a knock came from the front door.
"Could you go answer that for me Dani?" she asked.
"Sure," I nodded & got off the counter top. I walked to the door & opened it to a face I never ever wanted to see.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I spat.
"I came here to apologise. I'm sorry Dani. I had to tell him," Kim pleaded.
"Why? Why did you have to tell him?" I asked furiously.
"Because," she started, "because he's been cheating on you too. I wanted to tell him so he could break up with you & not break your heart more painfully by you finding out," she went into a whisper, "he even tried to get with me," she said & started to cry which I didn't understand because he is my boyfriend. Well, maybe not anymore.
"Oh my gosh Kim. You stopped him didn't you?" I asked.
"I ran out before he could do anything but he was touching me & doing things that I knew he does to you & I felt so uncomfortable," she exhaled heavily, trying to stop crying.
"At least. He's such a sleazeball oh my gosh," I put my fingers on my temple, "now I can break it off. How long ago was this?"
"Five months," she said quietly & I just shook my head with my mouth open.
"Thanks Kim," I hugged her, "you better get going. I've got a few things to sort out," I nodded & she left.
