„Christine Dormer, seventeen", I said. The wallet had been empty except for a bit of money and and her ID card. Nothing. No sign of the murderer. What did this mean? Was there no connection or did he really just want me to tremble in fear until he would come for me?

„Do you think he's a vampire?", I asked Dante, who was sitting next to me braiding his hair new. His amber eyes looked at me without a hint of an emotion. Which Dante was he right now? I couldn't tell.

„Yes, there were bite marks. That means, considering the quality of your blood, it's most likely your killer is trying to get your attention for some reason", Dante explained. Well, he had got my attention. What now? I couldn't take my revenge without knowing his whereabouts. If I could make him appear before me somehow...

„We're using me as a bait. I wander alone at night while you're in the necklace and-"

„No."

„Why not?" I was visibly disappointed. Just when I thought I had something, he destroyed it. It was not fair. All I wanted was revenge! I didn't care about anyone who had died, not the girl or anyone else who might still die because of that guy. I wanted to kill him, with my own two hands.

„It's way too dangerous for you, my master. He could suddenly appear and kill you before I am able to make a move out of the necklace! You're being too reckless again", Dante said and moved his glasses upwards. He had finished braiding his hair and was now looking for something else to distract himself.

„Fine. It's too dangerous. Tell me what I can do, I'll do it!", I hissed at him. Before I could stop him, he suddenly wrapped his arms around my waist and drew me closer. His breath stroked my ear and made my heart pound so hard I thought I would die.

„What are you-"

„You can just stay here and wait for him to make another move", he murmured. I shook off his arms and jumped up. What did he say? Stay?

„Who do you think you are, Dante? You are my servant and hereby not allowed to do anything against my will! You want me to stay here? Am I supposed to wait until he's out of my reach? This could be my chance and you don't want me to take it?", I shouted. Dante stared at the ground, playing with the ring on his right thumb. How could he say that? And how could he do that knowing I don't want him to get closer as he was?

„I just don't want you to get hurt, Yuk- ... my master", he whispered. Oh, come on! He didn't really regret it so he could as well stop acting.

„Don't pretend to care about me. You're my contract partner – you'll do as I say and one day take my soul. That's all that is to it", I said. And regretted it the next second. I had promised myself not to hurt him because I didn't hate him, but I seemed to be unable not to hurt anyone. But maybe it was for the best to hate Dante, hate him and his two sides, him who always pretended to care although no one actually did.

He got up and took a step towards me, but I stepped back. I didn't want him to get any closer. I was so stupid. I should have died back then instead of making a contract with an idiot like Dante.

I turned around and ran outside into the thunderstorm I had not noticed.

I loved thunderstorms. The sky was as black as my soul, lightnings flickered through the sky and destroyed the darkness for less than a second. The rain calmed me down and soon I was completely relaxed, sitting on a wall near a playground for children. I could hear the loud roar of a thunder rolling over the ground, making leaves and tree branches vibrate. How could I have been so harsh? He did nothing that would normally cause me to be so angry. Was it because he got close to me? Well, maybe I was stressed out and hungry; I had experienced a lot today and I had eaten almost nothing. Just as I wanted to go back, something strange appeared in the corner of my eye. I turned to look and spotted someone. He wasn't too far away, but standing with the back towards me. I immediately saw the strange part on him: his hair shone as white as snow and literally glowed when the lightnings flashed. White hair. I got up and began walking away, as I notices that he had vanished from there. So suddenly? Where could he have gone...?
