When I saw ugliness
Fury and frustration,
You showed me beauty
You showed me love behind the anger
Sorrow behind the frustration
Lessons behind the failures,
The crimes
And the misjudgments I made
You opened my heart to
The melodious songs that the soul sang when it was abandoned
Deep into the woods
Where there seemed to be no way out.
And when I lost hope
In myself
And in you
I took a wider jump and fell into the arms of your antagonist, pessimism
And then you dawned in again
And taught me how life was
Incomplete without you
You rekindled my desire to live
To thrive
To smile
And to accept everything that came my way with open arms.
