After I made my way to my third period class, world history, I finished my work quickly and read my book, The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie, intill the bell rang. I went through my next two classes, PE and Honors English.
Then the bell rang for lunch. All the other kids rushed from their desks and out the classroom door like hornets to their nest. As if their life depended on getting to lunch before anyone else. I walked camly but deliberately to my locker and put my books up and grabbed my bag for band. Then I went to lunch.
As I walked to the cafeteria I realized I didn't know where to sit and I didn't have any lunch money. So, I just sat in the gym and read my book. I was so absorbed in my book that I didn't notice someone sit down beside me. I looked up after I felt a tap on my shoe. It was Sage.
"Hey, why aren't you at lunch?" Sage asked me. "Oh, I don't have any money. I left it at home" I answered them. "Well, I'm not going to let you starve. Come on" Sage grabbed me by the hand and pulled me along and out of the gym. "Where are we going?" I asked laughing as they pulled me further down the hall and out the door and then outside. "Were going to the cafeteria, duh! Where else would we go for lunch?"
I was very confused at this point because the cafeteria was back inside and we were outside running behind the school. Sage led me to a ladder and told me to climb. So I did. Then we found ourselves on top of the school. "Woah," I gasped as I looked around, "you can see everything from up here." "Yeah, I know. I found this spot my first year here."
Sage led me to a covered alcove in the middle of the roof. There was a cooler and some folding lawn chairs under the alcove. Sage pulled out some rootbeers from the cooler and two Italian sub sandwiches out of their back pack. Sage tossed a sandwich to me and handed me a rootbeer. We sat there on the roof and ate.
Author's Note:
I'm not done with this chapter but I will right some more after I get out of school. Its slightly hard to actually write a good chapter and pay attention in math class at the same time. Thanks for reading and please vote!! -Loki Oswald :)
