The Lonely Demon Who Found Friends (Boy X Boy)

Chapter 07

Chebito and Tobi walked down the corridor, still processing Asuka's words in their heads. In the end they decided to leave it for another time as it seemed to just get their minds muddled up even more. Once they were at the first stairway they had to part their ways as Chebito's class was a floor above Tobi's. Before they parted, Tobi stopped Chebito to tell him something.

"Look here you..." he started.

"... don't ever let anything like what happened today happen again" he said in a monotone.

Chebito listened to him in silence, knowing that there was no use in arguing.

"...and also, don't ever involve yourself with me again, it'll only get you hurt" he finished.

"That, I'm afraid I can't, Tobi-kun" said Chebito abruptly.

Tobi looked at him with eyes overflowing with bewilderment.

"Like my aunt said, you're my friend now, I can't just let you go and end our friendship just like that" he stated.

"That doesn't apply for me! I'm the-"

"-demon boy- I get it. But here's thing, Tobi-kun..." started Chebito as he walked a bit closer to Tobi.

"I... just don't give a shit about that" he said bluntly.

"Huh?!" exclaimed Tobi in astonishment.

"You... how dare you...! I'm being serious here and you just..."

Chebito placed his hand on Tobi's head.

"So promise me, that you won't try and break us apart again okay? I really want us to be best friends you know" said Chebito with a genuine smile which was just too bright for Tobi for which he immediately turned away.

Tobi stared at the ground like he always did, without a word. Noticing this, Chebito ruffled his hair playfully to make him feel less tense, before turning around to leave for his class.

As the bell indicating their lunch break rang, Tobi was about to get up from his seat and go to some isolated place in the school, away from the rest of the crowd like he always did, but seeing as he discovered a rather appetizing looking bento (bento= lunch box) in his bag which was most probably prepared and put in there by his new found friend Chebito, he decided to go looking for him in hopes of lecturing him on it. Just as he was about to leave the class he was stopped by the class rep, Gakuto. He noticed him eyeing the bento, wondering where it came from for it was probably the first time he'd ever seen Tobi even holding a bento in his hands at all. After examining the box, Gakuto fixed his gaze on Tobi.

"And where would you be going with that bento?" he asked.

Tobi, not wanting to get Chebito into anymore trouble than he already has, decided to keep quiet about the fact that he was friends with him.

"I was just going to look for a place to eat it in" replied Tobi in a hushed tone.

"Well I don't mind that, but this is the first time I've seen you bring a bento to school..." said Gakuto, eyeing the light green and white stripped patterned lunch box.

"I-I just thought it would be fine once in a while..." said Tobi trying his best not to sound suspicious though he already knew that he was suspicious enough for he never brought any food with him at all and the only time he ever ate at school was when he bought 300 yen yakisoba bread from the cafeteria.

He glanced at Gakuto, wondering if he'd let him off that easily. To his surprise, Gakuto gave out a soft chuckle before fixing his face back into a serious one.
