Chapter 2

The Party

Arthur and Maria got off the carriage and looked around. "This is nice!" Maria said pushing some of her long brown hair behind her ear. Arthur nodded. "Arthur! Arthur's Assistant!" A young man with red eyes and white hair said walking over to them. "I'm so glad you could make it mein friend! It's awesome ,not as awesome as me of course, but still awesome you could come to Deutschland for my dinner party!" He patted Arthur's back hard. Arthur smiled at him awkwardly. Maria giggled. Soon the red eyed man and Arthur became frightened and were shivering like babies. "Hm? Is something wrong?" She turned around and saw the same Russian man from before. "Ah Hello again sir!" She said smiling at him. "Privejet Ma'am!" He said setting a hand on her shoulder. "Y-You know I-Ivan Braginski?" Arthur asked shocked. "I suppose so." Maria said looking at Ivan. "And you are my lovely podsolnechnik?" ((Sunflower)) He asked smiling down at her.. "Maria Diaz Hernandez Santos at your service!" She said holding out her hand. He shook it vigorously. The red eyed man eyed Maria. "She's pretty awesome... Are you dating her?" He asked Arthur. Arthur turned a crimson. "W-What? N-N-No of course not!" He blushed. The Lord laughed and motioned towards the house. "C'mon let's go eat!" The three nodded in agreement.

Maria sat next to a small blonde servant girl. "Hello there.." She said to the girl. "Guten tag. Mein name ist Lili. I'm a servant for Lord Beilschmidt. Is there anything I can do for you?" She asked standing up. "No no! No need for standing up. I was just looking for a friendly face to talk to..." Maria trailed off. "Ah! Please forgive me!" Lili said sitting back down. Maria smiled gently. Arthur watched them from afar. Lord Beilschmidt elbowed Arthur gently. "Ey... Do jou have a crush on Maria or somezhing?" He asked drinking some of the red wine, that matched his eyes. "What?! No she is just my assistant. I have no feelings for her what-so-ever!" Arthur said raising his head in pride. "Zhat's low. You don't even care for her?" The Lord said moving his glass a bit. "I-I didn't mean it like that!" Arthur yelled. Maria and Lili looked over. Arthur timidly waved. Maria giggled and waved back at him. Arthur looked over at the now laughing lord. "Do you find my humiliation amusing?" He mumbled. "Ja I do!" The Lord laughed. Arthur groaned and hid his face in his hands. A tall brown haired man walked over to Arthur and lord Beilschmidt. "Hola amigos!" The man said smiling slickly. "Toni!" The Lord said standing up and hugging him. "Arthur, zhis is mein friend, Antonio!" Antonio held out his hand and shook Arthur's firmly. Maria eyed Antonio. "Do you not like him?" Lili asked catching her glare. "Eh? Oh him.. He and I had some problems when we were growing up but now I think we've grown past that.." Maria said flicking her braid behind her back. "Oh!" Lili said blushing a bit from embarrassment. "Who is that?" Maria asked motioning to a tall blonde man with stone cold blue eyes which were hiding behind square framed black glasses. He was well built and seemed as if he could carry at least 2 hundred boxes of steel. Maria couldn't help but stare. "That's Mr. Oxenstierna, He came from Sweden." Lili said staring a bit as well. "Not too bad on the eyes, ey Maria?" Maria blushed and looked at her a bit shocked. "Sadly you have a point..." Maria looked back over at Mr. Oxenstierna, who caught on to her staring. He looked at her and they stared at one another for quite sometime. Maria blushed and averted her gaze. "Seems as if you've caught his attention.." Lili whispered. Maria glanced over and saw him walking over! Lili smiled and stood up. "Ill be back~." She said as she walked off. "Hallo." Mr. Oxenstierna said as he stood next to Maria, wine glass in hand. "Hello I'm Maria Diaz Hernandez Santos." She said blushing brightly as she curtsied, her white top, which was neatly tucked into her stomach high dark blue skirt, highlighting her blush. "'M Berwald Oxenstierna." He said holding out a big hand. She shook his hand firmly. His grip was firmer than hers but her grip surprised him a bit. "Mind if I sit?" He asked motioning to the empty seat besides her. "Not at all! Please sit, I insist!" Maria smiled. Antonio looked at his watch. "I'll be back." He said stalking off. "Don't get lost!" Lord Beilschmidt joked. "Can you actually get lost in here?" Arthur asked a bit concerned about his clumsy assistant, who he didn't notice speaking with the strong, quiet Swede. "Ja but Zhat's vhy I have servants." Lord Beilschmidt said waving his hand, smiling. "If you say so!"
