The Crime

Maria yawned a bit. "Are y'u tired?" Mr. Oxenstierna asked putting a hand on her knee. She smiled weakly and nodded a bit. He stood up and picked Maria up, bridal style. "M-mr. Oxenstierna?! W-what are y-you doing?!" She asked a bit frantically. "Taking you to your room." He said following a certain little blonde girl up the stairs. She was too tired to protest. "P-please don't try a-anything.." She pleaded, lying her head on his chest. "I wouldn't dare." He promised. or would he?

~ 2 Hours Later ~

Arthur sighed as he listened to Lord Beilschmidt talk and joke with Mr. Bonnefoy. 'Stupid Frenchman..' He thought. Ivan walked over to him. "Privejet again Arthur." He said sitting next to him. "Have you seen Ms. Maria?" Arthur looked at Ivan then looked around. "She was over there." He said pointing where she was sitting with Lili. "I can't seem to find her now..." Lili walked over and smiled at the two men. "She was taken upstairs by a nice man named Mr. Oxenstierna!" She said happily. Ivan giggled and patted her head. "Thank you, Lili." Arthur remained silent. Without warning he ran upstairs, almost knocking Berwald over. "Sorry sir. Have you seen a Swedish man and a Portuguese woman pass through here?" Berwald nodded. "'M the Swedish man 'nd the Portuguese woman is sleepin'. Don't bother her." He said before walking downstairs. Arthur narrowed his eyes and walked upstairs anyways. He opened the door to a random room silently and looked in hoping it was Maria's room. Sure enough, Maria laid in bed sleeping soundly. Arthur smiled and shut the door gently. His smiled soon faded when he heard a loud scream. The door behind him flung open to reveal an alert Maria. "What happened? Did you scream Arthur?" She asked. He narrowed his eyes at her and pulled her downstairs. Lili stood there, paler than a white sheet. Maria hugged the poor servant. "What happened? Tell me everything." Maria said looking Lili in the eyes. "A-A-An.." Lili stuttered. "Ants?" Arthur suggested. Lili shook her head and pointed to the floor. There lay Antonio. His head bashed open and his chest filled with multiple knives, splitting his skin back to reveal his bones. Maria covered Lili's eyes as the others filed in the room. "Vhat happened here?!" Lord Beilschmidt yelled. Mr. Oxenstierna walked over to Maria and set a hand on her shoulder, whispering to the two girls, asking if they were alright. Gasps and screams were all that was heard from the crowd of on lookers. "Calm down! Calm down!" Arthur said holding his hands above his head, signaling to be calm. "My assistant and I are on the case. We will find out who the murder is. Until then, everyone please go to your rooms to be interviewed." Without protest, the guests filed up to their assigned rooms, Except mr. Oxenstierna, Ivan and lord Beilschmidt. Maria let go of Lili and knelt next to the body. "Seems as if it was done out of rage." Arthur said crossing his arms. Maria shook her head. "No.. It wasn't rage but amusement." She said almost admiring the cuts as if she was impressed. "What do you mean?" Arthur implied. "Well it seems as if they enjoyed opening his skin." She said raising an eyebrow. "If the murder tortured their victim, in this case Mr. Antonio, then wouldn't we have heard his agonized screams or at least see his blood on the ground?" Maria shook her head. "Mr. Antonio wasn't bleeding when they opened his skin." Maria said. "Oh? How is that possible if you don't mind my question?" Ivan asked entering the conversation. "When the victims skin was opened, he was already dead. In other words, he was poisoned and drained of blood." Maria stood up and put her hands on her hips. "Let's talk to the chef, shall we?"

Oooooh! Mr. Antonio was murdered! What will happen next? Why was Berwald with Maria for two hours? What happened to the murder? Is he/she still there? Why am I asking so many questions? Because I'm the author! All these questions and more will be answered in the next chapter, maybe!

Stay fabulous my pancakes!
