yeri couldn't fall asleep, she had been thinking about seulgi's words for a long time like what she always does whenever someone mentions wendy's name and her secret.
sitting up from her bed, she grabbed the nearest coat beside her bed and climbed down the bunk bed slowly, hoping not to disturb seulgi who was sleeping soundly.
she tried to walk along the coastline like protagonists in movies, slowly and gracefully but ended up tripping over a small rock.
"that looks painful," she jumped up as she heard a female voice coming from the back of her.
she brushed off the dry sand and stood up to face the girl in front of her.
"it's been a while yeri," wendy smiled.

seungkwan got woken up in the middle of the night due to the repeated vibrations his phone was making. he groaned and unlocked his phone, squinting his eyes at the brightness before clicking onto his message app.
he had around 5 messages from wendy which he didn't really want to read, but did it anyway.
wendy: heyy seungkwan
received 11:43pm.wendy: come out now and watch this reaction
received 11:43pm.wendy: i'm sure you're going to love it
received 11:43pm.wendy: she's here
received 11:50pm.wendy: are you sure you're not going to come?
received 11:55pm.wendy: don't regret it :')
received 12:00am.seungkwan looked at the time with his eyes widened, 12:15pm, he's not going to make it. he shot straight up from his bed, and sprinted out of his room barefooted.
"damn it yeri, i can't save you this time."
the training he got from soonyoung was worth it, his legs travelled faster than it should be and even faster because of that one person he desperately wanted to protect.
by the time he got there, he knew that he was too late. his heart broking in pieces as he saw her tears fall onto the ground like raindrops, her eyes shut tightly, embarrassed to even look up to face wendy.
"wendy, what are you doing?" he shouted, grabbing her wrist and pulling it as far away from yeri as possible. He put his hands on yeri's shoulder, shaking it lightly. "it's not like that, it's not what you think. trust me."
yeri looked at him in disappointment, "i thought i could trust you." she then turned around to leave.
his mind told him that he should go and chase her and make her believe in him again, but in reality he couldn't do anything to compensate for the damage he had caused for her.
he turned to wendy, who just smirked back at him, "i warned you."
"leave," he growled.
"just know that you did this to her, you caused her pain, she has to know," wendy said before walking away.
as much as he wanted to deny, he couldn't. he was the one who ruined her life, causing her to forget everything permanently. he thought he could make it up for her but everything he does will be pointless.
the scar was too deep, too painful to disappear.
