Chapter 5: Quick

When Kageyama woke up this morning, he had noticed Hinata was not on his hospital bed. 

He started to worry. He found something attached to the door. 

He read it: 

''Kageyama, if you are reading this it's not good. Hinata got a heart failure this morning and needed to get an operation. If you want to see him, go to him as soon as you can. This maybe can be his last goodbye too you.''

After that Kageyama goes as fast as he can to Hinata.

Hinata, please be okay.

I don't want to lose you already. 

I don't want to be alone without you. 

Not yet.

After a while Kageyama finally finds the room where Hinata is.

Kageyama watches his boyfriend being in the operation room in fear.

After a while it looked like the operation had succeeded. 

Kageyama was allowed to go inside.

''Hi.''

Kageyama gives Hinata some kisses on his forehead.

Hinata wakes up.

While still sleepy Hinata says: ''H-Hi...w-what happened?''

''W-why am I here??''

--

''Hinata, you had an heart failure. You had to get an operation immediately.''

''B-bu-But...I don't remember anything...''

''The only thing I remember is that Kageyama gave me a kiss and that I fell in a deep sleep after that..''

''I understand that...but we need to be more careful...if this happens again outside the hospital there's a chance we can't save you the second time...so you are not allowed to go outside the hospital...'' Hinata's doctor says.

''B-but-''

''It's for the sake of your health Hinata..believe me...it could happen again any moment..''

Why? I understand I can't play..but now I can't even watch the last match....

I want to see the precious moment. If Karasuno wins...

- I'm so worried. Hinata can't even watch our last match...what if he isn't here anymore at the big moment...

- NO. I have to avoid thinking about that.

After a while the two boys are back in the hospital room.

''Hinata..please keep your promise...don't leave the hospital...who knows what's gonna happen if it goes wrong....''

- ''Yeah fine...''

''Do you want something to eat?''

- ''Yes, I'm starving...''

Hinata gets the same meal as the last time he got food from Kageyama.

- ''You want some too?''

''Yeah, sure...''

- "Kageyama, why do you look so sad?''

- ''You haven't forgotten what I said, didn't you?''

''No. Of course not.''

- ''Just relax..everything's gonna be fine...''

- ''Believe me...I will be as careful as possible..''

- ''Everything's gonna turn out fine-''

IDIOT. WHAT DOES HE THINK IS SAYING...

IT WON'T BE FINE.

HE HAS ONLY ONE YEAR TO LIVE. 

ONE GODDAMN YEAR.

THAT'S TOO SHORT. 

I WILL NEVER MEET SOMEONE LIKE HIM AGAIN.

Kageyama starts to cry on Hinata's lap...

- ''K-kageyama? What's wrong??''

''You're just casually saying it will be fine..''

''It's NOT gonna be fine...''

''If you're not here anymore..I will be alone...''

''I won't have happy memories anymore...''

''Nothing's important for me if you aren't there...''

''SO DON'T YOU DARE SAY IT'S GONNA BE FINE!''

After that Hinata suddenly passes out again...

He doesn't react to Kageyama...

His heartbeat is way too slow...

''HINATA!''

''WHAT'S HAPPENING?''

''WAKE UP!'''

''HINATAAAA!''

Kageyama gets the doctors as soon as possible.

After Hinata being brought to the operation room again, Kageyama returns to Hinata's hospital room.

Why does this happen to me? I feel so bad...

After I said that to him...

I'm an idiot...

If only I didn't say that...

Maybe he wouldn't have passed out right before my own eyes...
