I walk into homeroom panting since I just had to walk up 3 flights of stairs just to make sure I made it on time. I go to sit in a seat, flipping my friend Lexi's hood onto her head at the same time, laughing as I do so.

"Yo Lex, what block is first?"

"A Block."

"Ugh you've got to be kidding me, history first, kill me now."

"Rough." She responds as the bell rings signaling homeroom is over and it's time to go to first period. Exiting the class I walk into the hallway seeing one of my funniest friends, Kylie.

"What up hoe?" I ask as I go over and give her a hug.

"Nothing much slut." She answers, embracing me back. Since we have class we part and both continue on our separate ways. Going down to the second floor I wait till I reach the third door on the left, then go into my class sitting in my "unassigned, assigned seat". Placing my bag on the ground, I take out my phone. I go on Snapchat and respond to streaks till more people enter. I look up to see Maya, my "twin", come in as some people call us since we look a lot a like besides that she has caramel brown hair.

As she walks through the doorway laughing I see a gorgeous human being following behind, laughing along with her. The beauty now sitting in his seat is not my mate, well not that I know of at least. Considering I can't find out till I am 18 and my birthday is not until January and it's only October. For someone to find their mate they both have to be at least 18. Anyways, even though he is not my mate does not mean he can't be my crush. I start up a conversation with Maya, trying to play it cool and not be so obvious that I'm completely staring at the piece of art seated next to her that is Tucker James. His blonde hair is messily styled yet still hot, while his blue eyes are enchanting as always.

Maya and Tuck are good friends but not dating, because he has a "thing" that started in late August during Pre-season with a girl named Alex . Alex is sweet and pretty so I can't hate her, but it doesn't mean I am pleased with the fact she's dating Tucker. It makes sense, even though mostly everyone is kind, social status is a factor in life and they're both in the "popular group". Alex is the sporty kind of girl who's into soccer, lacrosse, and daughter of the Delta, while Tucker is the captain of the varsity basketball team and soon to be Alpha of the Lunar Eclipse pack. Tuck and I are sadly just friends, not super close but for now, I'll take what I can get.

The first time I ever saw Tucker was at the end of June a few weeks after I had moved from Manhattan, New York to Bridge Falls, California once again. You see when I was younger I used to live in Bridge Falls, but fifth-grade year my parents had a job switch and that's how I ended up in Manhattan, oh how I love that city. I moved back to Cali in the beginning of June this year. I was not ecstatic to have to complete my senior year at my new yet old school, especially since I had to leave my best friends Elle in NY, though we make sure to facetime every night now. But my old friends and I had always stayed in touch, originally through handwritten letters but we switched to texts once we got our phones. This made the transition a lot easier since I already had a group of friends, which meant invites to parties, Whoot Whoot! I know I'm weird, don't judge.

Back to the point. One of the parties my friends and I had been invited to was a beach party, and this is where I spotted the wondrous Tucker James. Red solo cup in hand, I watched him walk over to some people, automatically knowing he was in that group. Any chance of me working up the courage to go up and talk to him was out the window. Nonetheless, I didn't let it ruin my night and continued to have a blast with my friends, drinking and dancing to the music erupting from the speakers. One of my best friends, Sloan, said she saw him looking at me a few times. I almost squealed but restrained myself. Over the course of the rest of the summer I saw him a few more times at parties, but really didn't actually meet him until September when school started.

When we met in class for the first time it was magical, I felt like I was on cloud 9. Well for me it was, at least until I managed to spill the water I was drinking all down the front of my white shirt making it see through. To say I blushed so hard I looked like a tomato would be the understatement of the year. Though now that scene is just a memory Maya, Tuck, and I laugh at in history sometimes. We mainly just interact in class though sometimes we talk in the halls, or if he is in my free. One thing I love about him is he always says hi to me when I walk in the room. I don't think I ever feel more special than in a moment when I hear,

"Hey, Corinne" come out of his mouth. So that's how we have ended up as kind of friends. To basically sum everything up, Tucker is unaware of the fact he's the reason I don't jump out of a window while in History class.

The teacher still isn't here yet so we all continue to talk. I hear Maya bring up homecoming, and think, 'Dear lord, I'm going to look like an idiot at the dance trying to tell myself 'It's okay to go with a group of friends!' while Tuck and Alex will be there looking like couple goals, FML.' But what I hear next shocks me to the core, leaving a slight devious smirk on my face.

"I wonder who I should ask?" Tuck says. Leaving me wondering, 'If Tucker and Alex are still together shouldn't he automatically know who he is going to ask? Maybe they broke up, maybe this is my chance.'
