I listened to Maya's advice, I did what she said and observed how he acted around me. Though watching him that day only confused me more. Maybe I just have shit people reading skills, or once again I'm over analyzing a situation but nonetheless, I'm still lost.
I can't really say anything out of the normal happened during the beginning of the day because I just didn't see him. We didn't have any classes together and if he passed me in the hallway I was unaware of that fact.
Though after lunch it was time for history, and time to really crack down on my sleuthing skills. Before class started Maya, Tuck, and I all did our usual routine of chatting with one another. Neither Tucker nor I brought up what happened last night but as I glanced at him I could see a knowing look in his eye.
Nothing out of the normal happened then during class something slightly out of the norm occurred. Maya and Jax were joking around a bit and our teacher made a joke about them flirting. Tucker happened to be sitting in between the two, since we had not yet split into our partner groups, jumped up from his seat, grabbed his stuff and moved across the room, comically saying,
"I feel like I'm third wheeling!" That got a resounding laugh from the class but nonetheless, I could help but think, did he do that on purpose to get away from me? Oh Lord, do you hear me right now?! I am currently the definition of a whiny teenager - come on C you need to get a grip on yourself!
As class ended that day I tried to get a hold of his attention with the excuse of trying to plan out the work schedule for next week. Though the first time I said "Hey Tuck" he either didn't hear or just blatantly ignored me. And before I could even try to restate his name he was out of the classroom. Well, ok then. Maya noticing my distress comes over and puts a hand on my back slightly rubbing in a soothing way.
"Don't worry Corinne I think he's just busy today, it's the first captains' practice of the season for basketball."
"Oh, I forgot about that. You're probably right." Though as I said this I could still feel a lick of uncertainty in the back of my mind.
"I know this probably isn't the best time to be asking this but are you going to watch the practice tonight?" Ok, so to some of you this may sound stalkerish but at Waverly High School (AN: I changed the name of the town from Bridge Falls because after thinking it over I realised the name was a bit cryptic lol) captain practices are a big event because since the coaches aren't there the boys get to have a bit more freedom with what they do. Basically, they just get to show off and have some fun.
"I guess, who's going?"
"Everyone."
"Wow, so specific."
"Obviously."
"See ya at the practice." I say realizing we made our way to my last period class.
"Be there or be square!" Maya says making me roll my eyes as I walk into the classroom.

Sitting in the top row of the bleachers next to Danielle, Kylie, Maya, Rosalie, and Alexa I scammed over the rest of the else was here. Damn, Maya wasn't joking when she said everyone was going to be here, it's currently so loud that I can barely hear what my friends are saying next to me. Ironic with my enhanced hearing and everything.
"So girls who's excited for this practice to get started," Lexi says giving a suggestive wink. Did I fail to mention before that during Captain's practice instead of using pinnies over shirts there's usually a purely pinnies and skins game? Yea no big deal, not like we get to see hot shirtless dudes all sweaty messing around for two hours. It may be a contributing factor to why so many students show up.
