I pulled into the parking lot of my apartment building and got out of the car. Looking up at the building,
i pressed my phone to my ear. "Call Dr. Banner and Thor, please."
The whole side of my building was burning. Completely engulfed by flames. I could see Wanda standing at the door, coaxing people out to the side of the road, dozens at a time. I quickly got back in my car and changed my shirt to my leather bodysuit, and grabbed my bow and quiver. Wanda watched as i pushed my way into the building. Running up the stairs, i was met with Steve waiting for me. "What's going on?" i asked. He shook his head and started up the stairs to the top floor. "It's your father. He's here for his revenge. He means to kill you and whoever is here to protect you." he said, still climbing stairs. I grabbed his shield and spun him around, grabbing him by the neck and pushing him against the wall. "I DONT NEED PROTECTION. I NEVER ASKED FOR ANY OF THIS. I DONT WANT YOU TO DIE BECAUSE YOU THOUGHT YOU NEEDED TO PROTECT ME."
His face went dark. "I'm protecting you and the world. Because i love you both. This has nothing to do with me, but i want to help you." he said, pushing me off and going back to the stairs. I followed him until we got to the top floor. The sound of metal on metal started to ring in my ears. We turned a corner into a hallway, and saw a thick, fiery figure walk into a room. "How do we stop him. You have to know.." Steve whispered. He watched me closely as i drew my bow. I ran down the hallway and into the room that he had walked into, stopping when i saw his back towards me. "TURN AROUND YOU BASTARD." i screamed at him. He cocked his head and turned around, looking me in the eyes. I breathed out as soon as i realized that i was holding my breath, but i felt the smoke fill my lungs. "Duck!" Steve said loudly, as he threw his shield. It went straight into the fire, but got stuck in the metal of his skull, but not for long The pressure of the metal forced the shield back out of his forehead, and it flew back onto Steves arm. "Im sorry darling, but i plan to kill you. So i won't be going down with a little metal shield."
I felt a tear roll down my cheek, but i quickly wiped it away. Suddenly, the building shook. "CODE GREEN" i heard Thor's voice come through my earpiece. "He's going to take out that side of the building!" I backed up into Steves arms and started running. Halfway down the first flight of stairs, the building gave way. We were falling. I felt him grab me and pull me in, sliding the shield underneath us, as the ground got closer and closer.
