Hey guys!
I have to download the Wattpad app in my iPad again because every time I open it, it closes by itself. ARGH!!!! 😫
Since I wasn't able to do a vlog, I'm here to tell you about what happened during the Science Congress. From Day 1 to Day 4.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day 1
I arrived in school at around 2:00 pm. Paulinians schools (yes, I study in a St. Paul school) from all over the Philippines will come in our school too. The scheduled meeting time was at 4:00 pm, but since I am an early bird, I arrived early. Well... A little TOO early...We slept at a room filled with trophies. I didn't know that our school won so many awards in the past! I waited patiently for time to pass by watching some Speedarts and Yo-Kai episodes that I downloaded in my phone.
My friends arrived a little later, around 3 o'clock. I took them to our room because all girls from my school who joined the Science Congress will sleep together since there are only several students who joined.
A few teachers came inside our room for a short roll call. They also gave us our Science Congress ID and a sling bag with a balloon and a booklet inside.
The booklet contains our schedule for that day and the following days, house/school rules, and a free page where we can write freely. There is also a page where we can write info about our new friends (if we make one). Unfortunately, we didn't get to write anything in that page since me and my friends didn't really socialize with other people from other schools. But we did get to be friends (I guess) with people from my school.
Me and my friends went to the canteen to buy some ice cream before dinner (because desserts comes first). We ate our ice cream while walking around our school.
When my friend is done eating ice cream, she threw the cup in one of the green bins that are located around our campus. Suddenly, a cat jumped out of the bin and glared at our friend. The look on the cat's face was so scary and funny at the same time so we all laughed. LOL! (I will never throw something in those bins without looking in it first ever again...) 😅
After that, we ate dinner. They kept playing the song 'Shape of You' by Ed Sheeran all the time. I was a little surprised that they play that kind of song in our school because it's lyrics are a little...inappropriate. And my school is a catholic school... I'm happy that they played that song though. I love that song and I love Ed Sheeran. (Don't judge me, please!)
After dinner, we had a short orientation about the Congress. They explained the rules (even though they were stated in the booklet) and all that stuff. It was super boring! I was so glad when it was over!
We took a bath in one of stalls inside the comfort room. I can't believe I didn't notice the faucets inside the stalls before! We brushed our teeth and changed into our pajamas and got ready for bed. We slept at around 11 o'clock because we kept reading books in Wattpad. (Everyone in squad has a Wattpad account. 😝)
Day 2
We woke up at 5:30 am. We immediately changed our clothes (thank goodness we don't have to wear uniforms) and brushed our teeth.Then we had a short mass inside the gym. We have to walk from the high school building to the gymnasium. It was sooooooo cold outside! It was also cold inside the gym. Good thing I had my jacket at that time! 😖
After the mass, we had breakfast. I was a little disappointed because they didn't give us breakfast food (like pancakes, eggs, bacon, hash browns, etc.). I love breakfast food! 🍳
Let's time skip to the ribbon cutting of the investigatory projects or IP. Unfortunately, we were all inside the room during the ribbon cutting because we are not allowed to open the door until the end of the very short ceremony. If we did, we will disturb everyone because it was held RIGHT OUTSIDE OUR ROOM.
I managed to watch a bit of the ceremony by looking through the door's window (which was covered with paper so people will not peek inside our room and invade our privacy, I looked at a tiny gap which is not covered in paper). HEHEHEH!😛
After the ceremony, we did...nothing... We checked a few of the IP and then stayed inside our room to nap, talk to each other, and read Wattpad.
TBH, the Science Congress was a little boring... That's because we didn't get to join a contest. There's nothing much to do really...
After we had dinner, we went to the gym (again) to watch the science dance contest.
At first it was entertaining and very interesting, but soon it began to become dull. The theme is about saving nature so the pattern of the performances are almost the same... The people do destructive things, then a trade guy happens, then they began to do stuff to save the earth... blah, blah, blah...
Then we returned to the High School building, did our night routine, and went to sleep.
Day 3
I'm kinda annoyed of the 8th grade students in our room. They kept on charging their phones. It almost seems like they never unplug them! Don't they know that I need to charge our phones too?! ARGH!!!!!!Timeskip to the third afternoon of the Science Congress. We were all pretty bored because chosen groups will explain their investigatory projects and we have to listen to it.
Our teachers were seated next to us. We chatted with them throughout the whole program. Turns out they were bored like us too. LOL! 😅
That night, there was a battle of the bands contest. I was pretty excited for it because I love music and Paulinians are pretty good performers. The music that they played are original music and I must say they did pretty well on their performances. (Although some of the singers had horrible voice quality which is a shame because their songs are good.)
I was very tired, sleepy and a little grumpy when all of the performances are over. I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow (right after I changed into my pajamas, of course).
Day 4I woke up early so I can take a bath since I wasn't able to do it last night. I was THAT sleepy!
I tried to wake my friends up too. But they didn't woke up immediately. So I left them and took a bath by myself. I don't mind some alone time anyways. I'm glad that they didn't get mad me.
After the morning prayer ceremony, we all had breakfast. I forgot what they served us but I remembered that I enjoyed it.
After breakfast, we were given time to pack up our things and clean the room. After packing up, we went to the gym for the closing ceremony. Then they sent us home and gave us packed lunch. We had a sandwich, Apple juice, a bottle of water, rice, fried chicken, and fries. I ate the chicken, fries, and rice with my friends and saved the sandwich for later.
I didn't know if I'm sad or happy that the Science Congress is over. Happy because I miss my home, finally able to charge my phone, and connect to a wifi again. Sad because it was actually kind of fun living in our school for a while and I'm gonna miss that.
Overall, I had some fun during the Science Congress. But it's not something I'm going to do again because it's kinda boring.
