Standing there in my beautiful, long, strapless dress I felt happy. Time to get married. My hair was down in curls as the veil hung over my face. I looked amazing. My mom walks in giving me a kiss on the cheek. "I'm so happy for you. Good luck." I smiled at her giving a her a hug. "Thanks mom. I love you." My dad comes in almost in tears. "You look beautiful honey." He hugged me tightly. "Dad your gonna wrinkle my dress." I said jokingly. "Oh, I'm sorry honey." He pulled away quickly wiping the tears away. "It's time." he continued holding his arm out for me.
I stood there watching my cousin Emily drop rose petal down the aisle. She looked so cute. I soon hear the violin play and my father began walking me down the aisle. I look to see Tom in his tux smiling at me. He looked so handsome. I noticed Mark next to him smiling as well. I didn't think he would accept the best man position. Tom takes my hand and we stood gazing at eachother. He flipped the veil over my head. I was almost in tears. The priest began his normal beginning speech. It wasn't until he said that we had written our own vows. What?! I didn't even write nothing. Of course Tom smiled at me and went first. "My darling Melony, I stand before you not only as a man in love. But, a man who has finally found the missing piece of gold that was once part of his heart. The piece that has brought richness and joy to my life. The piece that is alway making life much more simpler to bare. As I stand before you I promise to love, care, and cherish you until God's great wing takes me home. This ring symbolizes my undying affection to you and that the golden piece of my heart is hear to stay." Tom places the ring on my finger. Tears fell from my eyes as I took in his vow. It was perfect.
I took the other ring and held his hand. "I really didn't have a speech prepared. As the old saying goes 'It's better coming from the heart'. Tom, ever since we first met I was immediately drawn to you. Everyday since our first encounter I couldn't stop thinking about you. Til' this day I stay gaze over you. You've lifted my life up and saved me from harm. With this ring, I promise to love, care, and cherish you until death do us part." Tom's eyes watered as I place the ring on him. He mouthed 'I love you' to me and smiled. "And with all that being said I now pronouce you husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride." said the Priest. Tom cupped his hands around my face and kissed me. I could hear everyone cheering.
At the reception Mark pulled me to the side. He handed me a box wrapped with a bow. "You didn't have to get me anything." I said. "It's nothing. Something I felt you should have to remember me by." assured Mark. I opened it and laid a beautiful charm bracelet. I look up at him to see he was holding a gavel charm in his hand. "Oh Mark it's goregous. But, what do you mean remember?" "I'm moving to Florida. I'm going to build a practice there." "I'm going to miss you." I gave him a tight hug. "I love you, Melony." "I love you too." He pulled away placing the charm on the bracelet. He put it on me and kissed my cheek. Tom comes over taking my hand. "Shall we dance?" he asked. I nodded my head yes and followed him to the dancefloor. We held eachother close as we waltz to the music. He was such a good dancer. I felt so happy as I found my prince charming. I'm never letting him go. I'm really going to miss Mark. We had a good thing but, I hope he finds someone that will love him. I have Tom, my sweet and wonderful husband.
