This chapter is dedicated to @iceyicey2001. Thanks for reading! I know Halloween is pretty far from now, but keep in mind that this is fiction. And wow, I am really surprised that this story actually has even 200 reads.
"I'm so wearing this," Marley stated as she grabbed the costume off of the rack. It was a bloody nightgown that reminded me of The Exorcist.
"You don't want a better looking costume?" Darren questioned. I laughed and he gave me a strange look.
"I don't go for sexy, I go for creepy."
"You could pass for creepy by just being yourself."
"I'm going to slap you someday."
"Are you implying that you want to see me again?" He looked so amused at the moment.
"I don't want to but I would probably have to see you again."
"You know you want to." He poked her in her stomach and she slapped his hand.
"I'm going to go try it on. Do you have an idea of who or what you're going to be?" She asked me.
"I'm going for the Rachel Berry look this year. High school years of course, my mother would never let me dress like she does now in the show."
"You dress like her everyday though."
"Well she is my favorite person on the show."
"I know, you mention that a lot," she said with a smirk. "Lea Michele is your idol, Rachel is your favorite character."
"So I don't need to buy anything because apparently I dress like her everyday."
"Yep! I'll be back." She literally skipped into a dressing room.
I turned to Mark. "Does your sister like trick-or-treating?"
"Lets go in," Lacy said.
"No way!"
"Oh come on Fawn, don't be a baby."
"Shut up Darren."
"I don't want to go in either," Marley announced.
"Don't worry I'll protect you. If you get scared just jump into my arms," Darren said teasingly.
"There is nothing more scary than that." Darren was dressed as the Devil. I don't think that he really needed to pretend to be that part because that is basically who he is everyday anyway. Lacy wants us to go in this creepy looking haunted house. I can deal with scary movies but put me in a real life scary situation and I will probably pee myself.
"Lets do this together Fawn," Marley proclaimed. I gave her a wide eyed look. How did her opinion change so quickly? "I want to prove that I can do this to Mr. Devil," she whispered in my ear. She grabbed my arm and dragged both Mark and me towards the entrance to buy tickets. She even bought my ticket. "Lets do this."
"You'll probably scare the workers Marls," Darren said with a smirk.
"I never gave you permission to give me a nickname. You aren't my friend, I think I made that pretty clear."
"You know you wanna kiss me right now."
"You know that you want to kiss me."
"Yeah, I do!"
"You just made things really awkward." I should probably speak up now. He really did make things awkward and weird. I even feel awkward. By the looks of it Mark feels the same way. Lacy was just staring on with amusement.
"You guys are loud. You've collected the attention of almost everybody in line," Lacy stated the obvious fact. We all looked at her. "And we're at the front now so if you guys could hand the nice man your tickets so we can get moving that would be great." My eyes shifted to the man she was talking about. He actually only looked to be about two years older than us. He had blonde hair that fell just above his eyes and grey eyes that sparkled. If I wasn't so into Mark I would say that he was cute.
"Do you mind if I join your group? My shift is over and you guys seem interesting." His voice was low and he had a smirk on his face. "I'm Dan by the way."
"Sure man," Mark said finally deciding to speak tonight.
"Thanks." We walked into the dark and freaky house. When we got to the second room the scary things started happening. A little girl walked up to us and her fangs looked real.
"Lets play." We turned around and there was a man in overalls with a chainsaw.
"Lets split up!" Darren yelled. The thing about this haunted house is that the exit is hidden and you have to find it. They give you walkie-talkies so you can communicate when somebody found the exit. Me and Mark ran down the steps... and came face to face with an old man with a chain. He clinked it against the ground. There was a girl tied up to a chair and she was screaming for help.
We spun around and ran towards the other side of the basement. Only to be tied up ourselves.
Marley's POV:
"Why did I end up with you?" I harshly whispered. We were stuck in the attic and I do not want to be stuck in an attic with him.
"It's fate babe."
"Nope, I'm not listening." There was a growl in the darkness. I whimpered.
"If you're scared you can come to me. I won't tease you." I scooted a bit closer just as he scooted closer. I turned to face him just as he did the same thing and our lips locked.
Fawn's POV:
"I have a pocket knife in my skirt pocket but I can't reach it. Can you grab it?"
"Sure." He grabbed it and started cutting. "The exit is right in front of us."
"Then lets go. We can contact then once we get out of here." We ran out of the building and then heard the sound of a chainsaw. "Oh no!" We ran away, with me screaming, towards the entrance. I got on the talky and let them know that the exit was in the basement.
Marley's POV:
We hopped apart when we heard the beeping coming from the "phone."
"You can not tell anybody that this happened. Ever." He nodded and then leaned in again as I backed away. "Oh look the latch is unlocked. Lets go."
We ran down the steps and grabbed Lacy and Dan on the way. When we got to the entrance we saw Fawn and Mark. Fawn looked terrified. I ran towards her and then an arm grabbed my own. I turned to see Dan.
"I was just wondering... when can I see you again?" My jaw dropped.
"You want to see me?" He nodded sheepishly. "I'd be happy to give you my number if you'd want it." I mean I could always use another friend. I don't think he wants me in a romantic way. That would be weird if he did because we did just meet awhile ago. I handed him a slip of paper with my number on it and he smiled in return. His smile is pretty but not as pretty as Darren. Wait did I just call his smile pretty? Maybe I'm going crazy because of the kiss. My first real kiss may I add. How stupid am I?
I'm so sorry that I took forever. And the chapter is short but I just had no inspiration for this chapter. I already have the next one planned and it will be longer and more interesting. I hope that some of you keep reading.
