"No way Mom!"

"Just because you have handcuffs on that doesn't mean that you don't have therapy every Saturday."

"I won't judge you, you know," Mark stated.

"I know," I sighed out. After the therapy session we're going to Mark's house. I'm going to meet the family of the guy of my dreams. Should I feel this nervous? I don't think so.

"How are you this week sweety?" Mrs. Reeve asked me. We've been together for so long that we're just casual with each other, even though you can still tell that she's a therapist. Therapists can be scary at times.

"I'm fine."

"Are you going to tell me anymore this week?" She acted as if a teenage guy wasn't handcuffed to me. Mark squeezed my hand and I felt a comfort that I haven't ever felt before.

"I'll tell you some of my thoughts this week." Although I've been coming for a long time I only tell her a teeny tiny bit every Saturday.

"We'll go at any pace that is good for you."

"I felt afraid, I didn't know what to do. I was thinking that it was going to be worse than any other time they've messed with me. I thought that they would destroy me so I wanted to fight back. I didn't want to let them see me break." She nodded her head and wrote something down. "So I did fight back but I guess I was too tough."

"You were just protecting yourself, that's what you should think of when you think of that memory. It was protection." She gave me a reassuring smile. I smiled back to let her know I'd definitely use that advice.

"My throat felt like it was closing up and I couldn't breath. I panicked and then I fell to the ground. I can't remember the rest because I blacked out. I don't know what happened to the others that were there that day. When I started going back to school they weren't there."

"Maybe they wanted to start over somewhere else."

"Maybe."

"Well honey the thirty minutes are almost over, I'll see you next weekend, unless your mom invites me over for dinner." It's so weird that my mom is friends with my therapist but they were actually friends since high school.

"See you then." I waved and then got up.

"You guys are a cute couple by the way."

"W-we-we're not a couple!" I blurted out. Mark started laughing and so I hit him. I dragged him outside of the room.

"W-we-we're not a couple!" Mark mocked me and then burst into another fit of laughter. The receptionist glared at him and he quieted down.

"Shut up."

"We would make a cute couple, I have to agree with that." My eyes widened and my cheeks started to burn.

"But you said you wouldn't date me."

"I won't." He tapped my nose and then started walking us towards the exit. His house is near the office so we don't have to walk a long distance, thankfully.

"You're so mean."

"No I'm not."

"Okay fine, but you are sometimes."

"Maybe sometimes. I like messing with you, it's fun." He smiled and then winked at me. We reached his house ten minutes later and he took his key out of his pocket. "Is anybody home?" I saw a girl, that looked to be about thirteen, walk into the room.

"Darren is being a jerk again, thanks for leaving me with him," the younger girl said. Who's Darren?

"Mom put him in charge of you guys again, Lacy?" She nodded her head. She was wearing a black T-shirt with black leggings and flats.

"Who's that chick you've got with you, Marky?" An unknown voice asked.

"I am a girl not an animal," I stated.

"Whatever Chick, what's your name? Are you Mark's girl?" I blushed because of the last question. "You look like to much of a good girl to be with Mark."

"She isn't my girl, but she is off limits, Darren," Mark said to the guy. I finally got a good look at him and I noticed that he had on a plain white shirt with black jeans and white sneakers. His brown hair was straight instead of curly and he had piercing blue eyes. He looked like an older Mark except Mark was more tan than him.

"You don't get to decide that now do you? It's her choice isn't it? Let her speak for herself." Darren came up to me and brushed his hand against my cheek making me flinch.

"We are handcuffed together so it kind of is my decision."

"I didn't notice. Once you get those handcuffs off you can come to me Chick and I'll teach you something amazing."

"No thanks, I'd rather not," I said quickly.

"Your loss." He shrugged his shoulders and then leaned in towards my ear. "I know you like Mark. I'm going to make you see his real side soon enough. I like making Mark feel bad, he deserves it." He then kissed my cheek and so Mark pushed him away. I was as stiff as a board.

"What did I say about off limits?"

"I'm sorry, I don't listen to little boys that take other peoples toys." Mark glared at Darren and then Darren left the room. Lacy came back in the room with her dirty blonde hair tied up in a bun.

"I'll be in my room, like I always am," she told Mark and then ran up the steps.

"Well this will be an interesting night," I said cutting into the awkward silence that settled between us.

"You have no idea," Mark replied.

Dinner went by with only one fight and an awkward conversation. Mark's father really is quiet and didn't say a lot whereas his mother loves to speak and told me that she thinks I'll be a good addition to the household. I like his parents they're kind, funny, and they really love their kids, even Darren looked like he was enjoying himself.

I think I'm really going to like being stuck next to Mark even if I do embarrass myself or have to deal with many different situations. I'll go through with it because not only do I have to but because I feel accepted.
