After about 20 minutes I saw Luke's car pull up in front of the shop. Thankfully the clerk offered to keep the shop open for 10 more minutes so I wouldn't have to wait outside by myself. I waved to Luke, and stepped outside. I raced to the passenger side, and opened the huge door.
When I sat down I quickly fastened my seatbelt.

"So what was it that happened?" Luke started the engine up. "Well basically, I went inside and he told me to get started on the project, so I did. I turned the computer on, and started playing Lana. You know when I get into it I start singing really crazy, right? Well that happened and I accidentally knocked a few things down. So I picked them up and I couldn't help but notice this one book, and-well- I'm guessing it was his diary.." I shut my eyes, scared to see Luke's reaction.

"You didn't?" He said. "I did." I said regretfully. Now that I said it I felt kind of stupid. "I feel stupid now." I murmured, resting my head the window. Luke looked over to me, and patted my head. "Was there anything really bad in there? Something he maybe wouldn't want you to see?" Luke asked.

"Nothing important. All he ever wrote about was his daily activities and this girl." I finished. "A girl?" Luke asked. "Yes Luke Hemmings. A girl, you know like me. Someone of the female gender." I giggled. We were getting close to both of our houses. "Hey! Please don't drop me home." I said. I looked over at the clock that read 8:49.

"Well where else do you wanna go?" Luke seemed confused. "Can I pretty please go home with you today? Your mom LOVES me! Please?" I whine.
"But every time you stay over and it's time for school, you never want to wake up. And my dad always thinks were together no matter what I say to him." He frowned. "Okay I'm sorry but your brothers’ old bed is really comfortable and I don't know why your dad still thinks that, because we've known each other forever!" I tapped against the glass.
"If I take you, then you have to do something for me," He said. "But I don't know what I want yet so yeah. I promise it's not anything bad." Luke finished. "Yay! Okay! I’ll call my mom." I smiled.
The phone rang three times and I finally heard her voice. "Hello? Carrie, why aren’t you home yet?” She questioned. “I was planning on staying the night at Liz’s house?” I used his moms name instead of his. “You mean Luke?” She laughed a bit. “Yeah, I don’t even know why I said that. Anyways can I?” I asked. “Fine, but you better not be late to school this time!” She warned. “I know, I know. Thank you, mom!” I blew a kiss into the phone. “Tell Liz and Luke I say hello. Love you, honey.” She did the same.

“Thank you mom!” Luke mimicked my voice. “I did not sound like that.” I looked at my phone screen to see no missed calls; how surprising. I grabbed Luke’s phone, and checked if he had anything. Two missed calls from Liz, and one text message from… Ashton? I opened up the message, and it read “Hey are you guys coming to the party on Friday? I have to RSVP everyone lol.” I laughed and replied “Yes we definitely are going haha, btw this is Carrie.”

We made it inside Luke’s driveway, and he finally took notice to me. “What are you doing with my phone?” He grabbed it out of my hands. “Texting Ashton back.” I simply said. “Do you have a crush on him?” Luke said teasingly. “No I most positively, absolutely do not Lucas Robert Hemmings.” I pushed my frames back to the top of nose, and shut his car door. He opened his front door and there stood Liz and Luke’s Dad. “Good evening Mr and Mrs. Hemmings. How are you?” I waved to them. “We’re fine Carrie. How’s your mother? Luke’s Dad asked. “She’s great, and as a matter of fact, she wanted me to send a hello from her to you two.” I smiled.

“Carrie is spending the night here.” Luke helped me say the words. Sixteen years and I can’t even hold a decent conversation with his parents. “Well you’re very welcome to stay here.” Liz  said. “C’mon Carrie lets go.” Luke grabbed my hand, and we walked into the kitchen. I sat on the marble counter top, and grabbed one of the green apples from the basket.

“So tell me what you were saying about you not liking Ashton.” Luke opened the fridge. “I was saying that I didn’t.” I rolled my eyes at him. “Whatever, Carrie. You don’t have to lie about it.” Luke laughed, and set a bar of Hersheys on the table. I opened it, and took a piece. I decided to ignore this pointless conversation, and get back to Michael.

“So what should I do about our new friend Michael?” I asked. “Call him and say you’re sorry.” Luke said as if it were so obvious. “We just met him today! I don’t have his number.” I hit him upside the head, and took another bite of the chocolate. “Then just wait until tomorrow!” Luke laughed. I sighed, and stood up.

“Where are you going?” Luke questioned. “I’m going to change and go to sleep.” I began to walk up the stairs. I made it into the room and slid the drawers open and put on some clothes I had kept here. I wore a big red t shirt and plaid pants, and ripped my hairband off.

I’m kind of disappointed in myself for doing what I did. I mean, it was his journal and I had no business reading it. Maybe tomorrow I could wake up early and try and apologize to him. Or maybe he’d avoid me in the halls. I am way over my head on this, I mean I just met him less than twenty four hours ago.

Just then, I heard a knock on the door. I was taking off my earrings, and screamed “Who is it?” and Luke opened the door a crack and said “Me!” I rolled my eyes and stood up from the bed. “What do you need?” I was a little mad, because he had interrupted my thoughts. “Just came to say goodnight, and uh don’t worry about Michael. We’ll fix this all tomorrow, and just have a nice sleep okay?” he sounded like he was worried about it to. Like he felt what I felt. I managed to creep a smile onto my face and opened the door to hug Luke.

“Thank you Lucas Hemmings!” I swayed him back and forth, and finally let go. “Please don’t hurt me.” He smiled back. “Night Luke.” I waved at him, and shut the door again. I threw myself unto the bed, and before I knew it, I was fast asleep.
