The next couple of days passed quietly and Lucy and Chloe began to fall in to a routine. Lucy would wake at around 6 in the morning and begin to get ready for the day. At half past 7 she would wake Chloe and open the Diner for the early morning customers. Chloe would come downstairs at around half past 8 and help with the morning rush. At lunch both Chloe and Lucy would leave for lunch leaving their friends Amber and Lewis to look after the shop for them until after lunch when they would switch and work solidly until 9 at night when they would all have tea together and then split for the night.

Lewis was Chloe and Lucy's friend from home. He came down to visit them 3 days in to them leaving and just never went home. He moved in to an apartment down the road from the Diner which he shared with another guy and came in to work each day just in time for the morning rush.

Amber was an employee of the Diner from before Chloe and Lucy turned up. She had taken a few days off and during that time Chloe and Lucy had taken over the Diner. Imagine their surprise when at half 7 someone let themselves in and started to open up. After the initial surprise from all of them Amber became a close friend and fitted in perfectly. An unwelcome tradition she brought, according to Lucy at least, was the addition of roller skates for the waitresses.

Chloe turned out to be fine on them and was actually less clumsy on wheels than on flat ground. Lucy however disagreed with the entire idea of not having both feet on the floor.

"If we were meant to have wheels on our feet we would have been born with them but we weren't so I don't see why we would want them." She persisted.

"It was your Grandad's idea so..."

They soon came to a compromise though, Lucy would work behind the bar in her heels and only the waitresses would have to wear the skates. This was fine as long as she didn't have to take over someone else's shift.

It was strange being there, working and living so far from everything they had ever known. It was defiantly a change but sometimes change was for the better.

"So what are we doing tonight?" Chloe asked while skating over to a couple on one of the far tables.

"I'm not sure, we can always go out for takeaway but I don't know any good ones around here."  Lucy replied placing another two milkshakes on the counter. "Table 7."

"Hey Amber?" Chloe called.

"Give me a second, we've got a spillage." Amber came skating back and wiped up the spilt hot chocolate for the table and the floor. "Yeah?"

"Do you know any good take aways around here?"

"Ummm, there's one down the road from here. It does the best burgers ever."

"We could go there." Lucy said and came running over to serve another customer.

"Ow!" Amber called and evryone turned to look at her. Red hot liquid was covering her front, steam was coming off her dress and her hands were wafting cool air on to the liquid in a vain attempt to cool herself down. Chloe ran to her and wheeled her to the stairs.

They struggled up and Chloe tugged her in to the bathroom. She wet a flannel and gave it to Amber. Grabbing a dress from her wardrobe she handed it over to Amber before shutting the door for her to get changed. She came out of the room with a hand pressed lightly over her stomach.

"I think you should take the rest of the day off and then ring us tomorrow if you feel any better." Chloe said and Amber looked as if she was going to argue.

"Don't say a thing to change my mind because it won't work. Now put this on your stomach and head off home." Chloe said and just recieved a rolling of the eyes in return.

"Thank you for this and I will bring back the dress when I come tomorrow. Are you sure you don't need me here because it looks a little busy down there?"

"Yes I'm sure. Now head off home and get some rest."

They walked down the stairs, well Chloe pretty much rolled, and Amber waved as she walked out. The Diner had calmed down some what and Lucy was stood behind the till.

"I'm really sorry to say this Lucy but your going to have to put on your boots and get rolling because I don't think I can cover the floor on my own."

Lucy nodded and dissapeared behind the counter, reappearing a few moments later shaking and gripping the counter.

"I hate these things!" She muttered and slowly rolled herself from the till. The day continued on and as 2 o'clock rolled on Lucy became more confident on her wheels.

"Hey look at you, your a natural!" Chloe laughed.

At this moment Lucy slipped and landed directly on a customer.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry!" Lucy cried scrambling up.

"It's fine." He replied, his smooth voice sending shivers down her spine. His face was covered with a thick woolen scarf and a low set hat. The only thing you could see was his brilliantly blue eyes shining. They seemed to look right in to her soul and she gasped slightly. She recognised those eyes...

"Elvis?" She whispered.

His eyes went wide and recognition flashed in those blue orbs and he sucked a short burst of air in through his teeth.

"Lucy..."
