Kati was talking to all of the other girls. I could feel Jake staring at me.

"Are you gonna try out?" Kati asked me randomly.

"For what?" I looked up from my book.

"The cheerleading squad." She said it like I should already know his.

"I don't know. I can't see myself as a cheerleader." I admitted.

"Well I can!" Kati definitely wanted me as a cheerleader.

"Maybe." I shrugged.

"We practice the same time as the football team. You'll get to see the guys run around shirtless." She coaxed me.

I weighed my options. On one hand, people might think that I'm shallow, like how I thought of the popular kids before I was one of them. On the other, becoming a cheerleader could get me a better social status and more friends.

"Ok. I'll try out, but I won't guarantee that I'll be any good." I sighed.

"Yay! I'll see you tomorrow then!" Kati hugged me and left the cafeteria.

I shook my head and headed to class. I honestly didn't think that I would make the cheerleading squad. If I did, it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

I was curious about how tryouts worked. I would find out soon enough.
