Chapter 16

Liam's POV

"I'm looking for someone on the behalf of Taylor Hyland."

My head snapped up to be greeted by a doctor. I quickly stood onto my feet and rushed over to the doctor. "Liam Payne. How is Taylor? Is she okay?"

The doctor ushered me and the lads into a more secluded area to Speak with us. "My name is Dr. Wright. I worked on Taylor in surgery and we successfully removed the bullet with no trouble."

I sighed in relief knowing Taylor is okay. "But," fuck. There is always bad news when a doctor says but. I watched Dr. Wright as she continued,"upon getting a patient out of surgery we give them at least a hour of rest before letting anyone see them. Well when we went to check up on her we discovered she has slipped into a coma. We believe it is from the excessive amount of blood loss."

"Well how long do you think she will be in the coma?" Kaley asked. "We are not sure quite yet, but I'm guess at the earliest she will wake is in about a 2 or 3 week. All we can hope though is it's not as serious as we think." Dr. Wright had a look of pity on her face. "I'm sorry. But the upside is she is breathing and her body is working on its own. All we can do now is wait until she wakes up."

"Can we see her now?" I asked as I was extremely shocked by the news but that didn't stop me from wanting to be by her side. I will not leaving this hospital until she wakes up.

"Yes. Follow me." We all followed Dr. Wright a short distance Down the hall until we reached a room labeled 146. Dr. Wright motioned for us to go in and she also notified us that if we need anything to just call. We thanked Dr. Wright before entering Taylor's room.

We all walked over to Taylor's bed and gazed down at her. No one said anything because no one knew what to say. It's practically all of our faults she is laying in this damn hospital bed.

I sighed before taking a seat in the chair at the edge of her bed. The guys followed my actions by taking a seat somewhere in the room. As hours passed I had heard small conversation made throughout the room but I made no attempt to talk to anyone.

My focus stayed on Taylor until it was broken by Austin. He squatted down until he was eye level with me,"Come on Liam. It's late, we should probably head back to the flat. We can come back tomorrow." I shook my head no though. I'm not leaving this place until she does. "Liam you can't just stay here. What about the business?" Luke had now joined into the conversation. "I'm fine here. Bring me some fresh cloths tomorrow. I can shower, eat, sleep here. I'll be fine, and for the business; you two are in charge. Daniel nor Wade is around so there should be no issues. You guys can watch the flat and you already know what to do if there are screw ups." I was pretty sure they could handle everything without me. "Liam-" I cut Austin off,"I'm not leaving this hospital until she walks out with me." I glanced up to see the guys looked worried, but they soon brushed it off as they knew how stubborn I could be.

"We'll be back tomorrow." Luke patted me on my back before they all left me alone with Taylor. Ugh I hope she comes out of this soon.

The next day the lads had brought over a bag of my things and some of the paper work I needed to work on.

They all hung around for most of the day trying to get me to cheer up, which is pretty hard if you ask me. They had successfully gotten a few laughs out of me but not much else.
