Chapter 26: The Letter

Cruz looked paler. Is there something in the letter? But what it could be? It have Cruz goosebumps. Cruz was sweating.
I picked the letter from the floor to read it.
To Jacqueline,

My dear I am so happy that you are getting married. Your both children Jasper and Jessica will get a father. I wish I could come to your marriage but I am lil busy here. Emmet is a rich guy, you will live like a queen and from now you will be Mrs. Jacqueline Adams.

I felt like my heart stopped beating. My stomach started doing somersaults . How can this be possible.
"Cruz tell me I am wrong" I gasp.
Cruz shakes his head and I can see his sweaty face. It looks like someone just stabbed him.
"This is the truth" He whispers.
"I am so sorry Cruz" I say.
"You didn't do anything" he says.
"Jasper is my step brother, and Jessica was my step sister" he exclaims coldly,"And I can't change it, it's a fact"
"Maybe Emmet Adams is someone else" I try to rise a hope.
"No the reality is Emmet Adam is my biological father" he says dully

He left his own blood for someone else's kids" Cruz breakdowns.
"Cruz maybe this is a misunderstanding there can be so many people named Emmet Adams"
"Do you really think?" He yells. I Nod. It's obvious that Emmet Adams is Cruz's father.
"What Now?" I ask.
"I don't know" he says rubbing his temples.
"Cruz you need to relax, do you have a chocolate? we will sort it out" I say opening a water bottle.
He nods as he takes a sip. He takes out a chocolate from his nightstand drawer.
"I am sorry, because of me you did not even have your lunch"
"No actually I am not hungry, this is for you, you know whenever I am in any stress of tension I always eat chocolate" I say he smiles and takes a bite" He is my brother, I can't even imagine what he did all this with you."
"Don't worry am fine, just relax. Do you want something?" I ask. He shakes his head.
"Take a little nap, you are stressed out" I say. He slips inside the blanket.
"Please don't go Blake" He holds my hand. I drag a chair next to his bed.
"You think aunt Zoe needs to know about this?"
"No her condition would be worse. She used to love him a lot and I can still remember seeing her crying sometimes" he tells.
Suddenly my phone beeps.
"Check it fast" Cruz tells me. I Nod and slide out my phone.
'You think you can ignore me babe' I read the message.
"We have to do something Blake! We need to call the police" he says sitting on his bed.
"But first I think we need to tell Brook" I say, he agrees.
"I should leave now, He will not pick up his phone. I will talk to him whenever he comes back" I say.

I enter my room. This day is so long. I don't know but today so many things are coming out.
I message Brook to come back home. I need to tell him.
Soon I receive his reply,"I'll be home in 30 min"

I don't know what to feel should I be mad at Cruz for the misunderstanding, should I be grateful to him as he is helping me or should I feel sad for what is happening to him. Do I love Cruz? Everything is happening so fast. First I get to know about the misunderstanding than comes Jasper again and now he is revealed to be Cruz's step brother. My life sounds like a movie or novel. The world seems to be so small. Suddenly I am dragged out of my thoughts by the sudden shut of the door.
"Who is there" I snap my head.
"Ohh it's me" Brook says throwing his hands in the air.

"Take a seat" I say dully.
"So tell me what's it?" He ask restlessly looking at his watch.
"Why are you so uneasy?" I ask.
"I have my match tonight at eight, I was waiting for this for months" he exclaims with joy.
Should I tell him or not. Umm how will he react. I think he should know about it. No he will be stressed.
"Blake, where are you lost?" He says swinging his hand infront of me.
"Ugh nothing" I say.
"Blake is everything fine?" He asks more seriously
"Ugh No" I say dully.
"What!?" He says.
"Ohh I mean yes, everything is fine" I fake a smile.
"Blake you can't lie to me" he says.
"Listen first promise me you won't react to it" I say he nods.
"I recieved a message from Jasper 'Lovely I am Back' and Cruz was with me at that time" I say. His eyes widen.
"Are you serious! Oh my god! When?" He asks desperately.

"In the morning" I answer.
"What! You recieved the message in the morning and you are telling me in the fuckin evening" he yells. Tears roll down my cheeks.
"Blake listen I am sorry for yelling at you, but you don't know if something happens to you I would never forgive myself."He says holding my shoulders.
"Wait did he text you something else" he asks desperately.

"I and Cruz went to his old house, and you won't believe-" I say but he cuts me,"Are you mad!! You went alone to that douche's house" he shouts.
"I was with Cruz" I yell back.
"Blake wait a second, I asked you something else did he text you again?" I nod. Suddenly my phone buzzes again.

"See it" he says. I shake my head. No I can't read any message in front of him.
"Read it dammit!" He shouts. I open the message.
I know you came to my house in the morning, why not at night and alone? I'll be waiting for you at six xx
I read it.
"I will kill him" he says.
"Brook you are not going to do anything wrong"
He moves to and fro rubbing his neck and moving his hand through his hair.
"Brook" I say.
"Brook you are scaring me" I say.
"Blake you trust me?" He suddenly asks.
"Its five thirty" he says looking at his wrist watch.
"Brook please calm down we will find something together" I say.
"Blake you should sleep now but keep this in your mind I will never break your trust" he says and suddenly leaves my room with a bang sound.
what is he going to do? Where is he going? I pull out my phone and call brook but he doesn't pick any call
Suddenly I remember to call Cruz.

"Yes Blake! Wait why are you crying?" He asks.
I did not realise I was crying.
"Cruz I just told everything to Brook. He could do anything, I am scared"
"Where is he?"
"I don't know. He immediately left"
"I am coming to your house, just wait" He says and disconects the call.

Soon Cruz arrives.
"I will call him" he says dialing his number.
After few seconds Brook finally picks up.
"Where are you" Cruz asks.
"That bastard will pay for what he did, I will finish everthing before the match" Brook says.
"Brook pls don't do anything that you will regret later" Cruz try's to dissuade him but he disconects the call.

"Where would he be going to" he asks.
"Ugh I think Jaspers house" I say showing him the message.
"We need hurry, Jasper send this message because he knew Brook will read it, he might kill Brook" he says.
"Cruz don't tell me you think Jasper will be armed" I say.
"Don't worry, nothing will happen,
Jack's car is still in my driveway, we should leave as soon as possible" He says.

He pulls the car out of the driveway and drives towards Jasper's house by the time I call the police and ask them to reach the spot.
"Why is it taking so long" I say uneasily.
"Relax nothing will happen" Cruz says as he gentely squeezes my thigh assuring me.
soon we reach jasper's house. I slip out of the car and run towards his backyard.

I see Brook standing there with blood drooling out of his nose and Jasper standing in front of him with gun in his hand and his a bruise on his eye and blood all over his face. It looks like they had a deathly fight before.
Soon Cruz joins me and he his shocked too to see the deathly seen.
"Ohh the audiance is here" Jasper laughs evily.
"Jasper drop your gun for god's sake" Cruz shout.
"Ohh my brother is here too" Jasper laughs hysterically.
"Brother?" Brook asks.
"Ohh you did not know Cruz is my step brother. You didn't tell him about it, did you Cruz?" Jasper sighs.

"Shut up I am not your brother" Cruz tells Jasper.
"Cruz is that true?" Brook asks Cruz.
"Brook believe me even I did not know about it untill today morning" Cruz tries to defend himself.
"You betrayed me Cruz" Brook says disgusted.
"No more Family drama" Jasper shouts.

"I said I will take my revenge no matter what" He says loading his gun and he points it at Brook.
"Japer please don't do this" I plead.
"Blake don't plead in front of this asshole" Brook says. Suddenly we hear the sirens of police.
"Jasper police will be hear soon, don't do anything wrong" Cruz tries to dissuade him.

"Hah! Do you think I care if police arrests me. I just want revenge, revenge of my sisters death" he laughs and shoots the gun. My heart pounds and I feel numb. This can't happen. Tell me its a nightmare.
