I sat at my computer, watching as the day light slowly fell into night. "I need you to stay late." My boss approached me.
"Is it just me?"
"No like 5 other people in your deparment"
I gave a pained smile. There's no point in asking why anymore. "Alright." I said picking up the phone to call Jeanine.
"Hey" I said.
"What up?"
"I have to stay late....again."
"You'll have to keep staying late if you don't put your foot down."
I laughed a little. "He's my boss, what do you want me to say to him? Hey! Fatso I want to go home."
"You should. But you'd get fired." She smiled.
"But that would be the greatest day of my life. Alright I have to go call Ava. "
Jeanine groaned as I hung up. I dialed Ava's number. It pick up and she grunted.
"Hey, I'll be home late. I have to work extra hours." There was utter silence which made me feel awkward. "I hate how you can't use telepathy over the phone"
An amused sigh came from the phone before she hung up. That's how most our phone conversations go. Though I still appreciate them.

"Hey!" A fake deep voice hissed. I looked up and Jeanine was standing there with McDonalds.
"I thought you were my boss." I smiled a bit. I hate McDonald's, it's so disgusting and greasy.
She put it down and gave me a wrap and a soda. I looked at it. This won't fill me up.
Jeanine flashed me a wicked smile and sat next to me. She pulled my face to kiss. Wasn't as pleasant as I hoped considering I can taste the heavy salt and fries on her lips and the "secret sauce" in her breath.
Jeanine was cute, yeah sure. She has dark skin like me, which my parents approve of. But she wears heavy makeup and all these expensive clothes. It gets over whelming. She has alot of attitude towards everyone. She gets annoying after a while. Some days I wonder why I'm putting up with this.
I looked at what Jean got for her self. It was the whole damn menu. I twitched. She bought this for herself and I get a wrap and a soda. I glanced at her face and she looked at mine. "I haven't eaten since 12" She laughed a bit.
I haven't eaten since 9. I smiled a little disappointed. "Hey are you going to eat that?" One of my female friends asked.
"I-"
"Scram." Jeanine snapped. I looked at Jean with disapproval. "You can have the wrap Meagan." She took it and walked away quickly.
Jeanine looked at me confused. "I thought you like those."
"I don't like McDonalds in general." I laughed.
"You could have told me before I bought it." She said with attitude.
"We've been dating for a year now and you still don't know I hate McDonald's."
"No!" We started arguing on what I like and don't like. Then she said I should at least try it. My stomach rumbled. The elevator opened and my boss came out.
I waved at the burly man who smiled and walked to his office. "You could risk it all right now. Say fuck it and tell him off." Jean said chewing.
"I have to hold up a house. I don't want to live on the street." I grumbled playing Tetris.
"You obviously don't want me living there..."
I leaned back in my chair and prepared for the worst. "I never said that..." I folded my arms.
"Then what is it. Is it Ava."
"Yes it is."
Her eyes widened in anger. "Before you say anything, you and her don't get along. At all. I don't want issues arising everyday."
"Then. kick. her. out." She snapped. I gave her a look. " Jean. Shes not staying forever. She's stayed for like non consecutive days."
"I've stayed a total of zero."
"If you add the nights up it makes more than Ava has stayed." I laughed.
"I'm being serious. When are you going to stop making Ava your number one priority."
"She... Isn't."
"Oh yeah?"
"Yes. Jeanie, you are." I smiled kissing her forehead.
