She's drowning. And he was too far away to make it, but he's trying. How is she drowning? Her sea green eyes were glazed and broken.
He swims faster. She calls his name. He shouts for her. Her head goes under as bubbles surfaced, so much bubble. (Why am I laughing-)
Then it all stopped. Dark red taints the murky water as the lifeless body of her floats up.Annabeth wakes up drenched in sweat and breathing heavily. He glances to his right and sees Percy sleeping peacefully, safe. His breathing calms down and he drops back down beside her, stroking her hair smoothly. He gently planted a kiss (I kept writing kids) on her forehead and pressed his forehead onto her's. She'll be fine. He won't let her go away. Never.
They'd only survived going through Tartarus together, and if they go apart now, in this quest— no. He refuses to let her go. He's being too protective, and he knows it. Either it was from being turned into a male or just generally him, he'll stay by her side.To night and day. In life and death.
