EJ is blind, and rightfully so. He can still 'see' however because of two things:
1. A sixth sense. Something just tells him where everything is in the vicinity, and he acts on that
2. Sonar. Yes, Eyeless uses sonar- like a bat. It's more refined however, so much that he can put a mental layout of the room he's in in his mind
