It was after school when it happened.

Jungkook had just came home from some after school tutoring when he walked past the living room, but wait.

Jungkook stopped in his tracks only to take a few steps backwards in order to see that his brother was sitting on the couch. He turned to Jungkook, giving him a wave that Jungkook returned, albeit confusedly, before walking up to his room.

Jungkook had good common sense and intuition, so he immediately knew something wasn't right. Why was his brother, who was in college, be home during the middle of the week?

Jungkook had a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach.

Anxious, anxious, anxious.

Jungkook was too nervous to leave his room after seeing his brother, he was too busy thinking of all the things that he's done lately and trying to find one bad enough to warrant a visit from his brother.

Dishes? No. Laundry? No, did that. Grades? No, those are alright.

Jungkook was freaking himself out, pacing in his room trying to get his mind to just think, think, think. What had he done?

Jungkook didn't know he had stayed in his room for hours, pacing and thinking pacing and thinking, until his mom had called him down for dinner at 7.

He slowly walked down the steps, legs wobbly, and almost tripped twice, which only increased his heart rate that was steadily picking up.

It was quiet at the dinner table, save for the small talk his parents and brother kept up. Jungkook just stared at his plate, picking at the food on it and trying to take small bites so as to not throw up from his nervousness.

After a while, the moment Jungkook had been anticipating came.

His mother cleared her throat.

"So, Jungkook. Who is this person you go out to see every night?" His mother asked, the first time she spoke to Jungkook since dinner started.

Jungkook looked up from his plate then back down at it, "Just a friend.." He said, the words leaving a funny taste on his tongue because no, he didn't really see his Sunshine as just a mere friend.

Though he wasn't absolutely sure what he saw him as, he knew 'just a friend' didn't really fit it anymore.

Nevertheless, he couldn't go into too many details about that part with his mother.

She sighed, "Jungkook..." She said and there was that disappointed mom tone, and he dared to chance a look up at her face to realize he shouldn't have because she was giving him that look, that look that truly spoke how disappointed she was, her eyebrows furrowed and her brow creased.

This time Jungkooks' father spoke, "Son, who do you think you're meeting with?" He asked, and Jungkook looked at his father because who does he think he's meeting with? What was he trying to say?

Jungkooks' eyebrows furrowed, "What's that supposed to mean?" He asked, he was feeling it again. That darkness was creeping up again, but this time it was wrapping itself in the anxiety and fear that Jungkook was feeling right now, turning it all into a muddled mess and he was beginning to feel a little lightheaded.

And now it was his brothers turn to speak because he saw how things were beginning to affect his younger brother, "Maybe we should word this a little differently guys? I don't think-" His brother began, but he was cut off by their father.

"No, I'm through with beating around the bush here!" He said, and Jungkook looked at him as if he were crazy because what the hell was he talking about?

Jungkooks' mother, seeing his confusion, too decided that it was time to get to the point. "Jungkook, we...we followed you the day after I questioned you on your way to the park. We saw.." She admitted, and Jungkook sputtered indignantly before flushing.

"Y-You guys what?" He squeaked out. If his parents had followed him that next day then they must've saw how close he had sat next to his Sunshine, and how he rested his head on Jungkooks' shoulder like he always did every night.

That must've been what they were talking about then, right?

Jungkooks' father seemed to have really had enough of whatever this was and decided to just say, "We saw that you were talking to someone. But there was no one there, son." His father said.

Jungkook felt his heart stop.

Jungkook felt his silverware fall from his hands to clatter loudly on his plate.

"W-What? N-No, there is someone there. There is." He said, eyes wide and disbelieving.

His mother shook her head, "No, Jungkook. There was no one beside you at all." She said.

Jungkook felt a strange wave of...of something. He couldn't describe it, but he felt as if something in him had just broke.
"Ha, n-no, you're wrong. I-I was talking to someone, there was another person beside me, I-I was talking t-to my Sunshine, h-he was right there." Jungkook rambled as he stood from his chair, eyes focused on nothing as he stared into space.

"Jungkook-" His brother began as they all rose from their seats as well.

"No! You're wrong, you're all wrong! How can you...how can you say that he's not real, how dare you!?" Jungkook shouted. He was getting hysterical and oh now Jungkook was walking to the living room and-

"Jungkook, you can't try to ignore this, there's something wrong with you, whoever it is you think you're talking to they're...he's not real." Jungkooks' father explained sternly and uh oh he shouldn't have said that because now Jungkook was breaking down.

Now Jungkook was screaming and crying. Now he was shouting, "Shut up! You don't know my Sunshine, how dare you try to take him away from me! Shut up, shut up, shut up!"

Now Jungkook was pushing them away as they tried to calm him because "DON'T FUCKING TOUCH ME!! YOU LIARS!!"

Now Jungkooks' heart was beating too fast, now his breathing was coming in short rasps, now he couldn't get enough oxygen into his lungs and his nerves were on fire, he himself felt like he was on fire and now, oh no, now Jungkooks' world was spinning and he was falling and there were words shouted but he couldn't hear.

And now Jungkook was in absolute darkness.
