After their last encounter, Jungkook hasn't seen his Sunshine for weeks and he's been steadily getting sadder and sadder.

His parents briefly suggested he go visit his therapist and he did, if only to give them less to talk to him about, and the therapist said something about thinking he's depressed, but Jungkook doesn't think so. He's just sad.

Or that's what he tells himself anyway.

He's been going to school like he's supposed to, staying after school like he always did, but that didn't stop the dreams.

Almost every night he saw the same thing, felt the same thing. Warm light, bright eyes, soft full lips, a smile so lovely that it had him waking up with tears in his eyes and a strong ache in his chest.

He couldn't get a moments rest and he felt he was going to lose his mind. He wanted to see his Sunshine so bad he felt sick.

Jungkook figured one night, after another one of those dreams, that maybe he should go to their spot to see...he didn't know what exactly, but he felt he needed to go.

So Jungkook snuck out again, ran to the park. He walked to their spot slowly, holding his breath as he saw the tree. He approached the tree and...

Nothing.

His Sunshine wasn't there.

A strange feeling of closure fell over Jungkook, and he took a seat in his old spot, right next to where his Sunshine...used to sit.

And he cried.

He cried because it felt like everything was over.

And maybe it was.

Jungkook hesitantly left their old spot, staring at the tree one last time and remembering everything.

Jungkook woke up the next day with the worst dark circles of his life. Taehyung had told him so, examining his face as soon as he walked in.

Jungkook was almost a walking empty shell after two days. He didn't go to therapy anymore. He didn't want to move, or eat, or do anything.

It was a Saturday, one of the days that Jungkook could stay in his room and sleep all day, that's how he's been spending his weekends now, when there was a knock at the door.

Jungkooks' mom, who was in the kitchen making lunch, heard the knock. "Jungkook, answer the door please?" She called, hoping the task would get him out of his room for even a second.

She had no such luck.

She sighed after a minute, realizing Jungkook was probably sleeping. Again.

What she didn't know was that Jungkook was awake and had heard her. He didn't want to move, and debated getting up, and after thinking it over decided to get up and make his way downstairs.

"Coming, coming." Jungkooks' mom called as she heard another knock at the door. She took the towel from the counter to wipe her hands, making her way to the door to open it.

She saw an unfamiliar face on the other side.

"Hello?" She spoke unsurely. The young man bowed nervously.

"Hi, I'm Jimin." He spoke.

Jungkook was coming down the stairs and saw his mother at the door, talking to someone that he couldn't see because she was standing in the way.

He continued his way down the steps, glancing at his mom at the door who had just suddenly shifted just enough for Jungkook to see that the person at the door was-

"Sunshine?" Jungkook spoke, eyes wide in disbelief.

Upon hearing the nickname, Jimin raised his head and locked eyes with Jungkook.

"Hi, Kookie." He said, and oh there was that wonderfully warm smile from his Sunshine, or well, Jimin.

And now Jungkooks' legs were moving of their own accord, rushing him forward until he was face to face with Jimin and his whole body must've been on autopilot because the next thing he knew he was pulling Jimin closer and closer until finally, finally, their lips met in a kiss that had fireworks erupting in not only Jungkooks' stomach, but his Jimins' as well.

Jungkook pulled away, only to embrace the other tightly. "Oh my God I can't believe this. What made you change your mind? You're really here, you're here, you're here." Jungkook mumbled to Jimin, who chuckled.

"I'll tell you one day~" He said, rubbing Jungkooks' back and Jungkook just realized this is the first time they've ever really touched and he doesn't know how he's lived this long without it.

Jungkook was fine with Jimins' words, he didn't care when he told Jungkook because all that mattered was he was here and he was real and Jungkook wasn't going to let go of him.

Ever.

Jungkook was always had a love for the sun.

And his Sunshine.
