Jungkook doesn't go to school for almost more than a week after he's released from the mental institute, and he goes to see his therapist at his office three more times during then and one more time before he finally went back to school.
When he entered through the front doors of his school, he was bombarded by his closest friend Taehyung. He gave the younger so many hugs and annoyingly adoring coos and cheek kisses that Jungkook had "accidentally" elbowed him in the side.
"Don't ever do that again.." Jungkook warned. His friend only pouted but agreed nonetheless.
Once lunch time rolled around, Taehyung finally had the proper chance to ask Jungkook about where he'd been and why his parents had him on leave for a month and a half knowing this was his last year of high school.
Jungkooks' mood went downhill fast, and Taehyung noticed immediately but before he could retract his question, Jungkook was answering honestly.
"They uh...long story short, they thought I was crazy so they um, sent me to this place or whatever.." He answered, struggling and failing to word it right.
There was a pause.
"You're not crazy are you?" Taehyung asked, and Jungkook shook his head.
"Good, cause there can only be one crazy one between us and that's me." Taehyung said, giving Jungkook his signature boxy smile and Jungkooks' chest clenched because Taehyung had to be the most amazing friend he could've ever asked for.
Jungkook stayed after school everyday for one month in order to catch up. That and he didn't want to go home. Jungkook didn't feel he could trust his parents anymore, he felt nothing but tense when he was in their presence, and so he didn't want to be around them.
If he wasn't after school, he was at Taehyungs', watching movies or playing games.
When he did go home, he kept his interactions with his parents to a minimum. A simple and soft "hello", or "goodbye", a "yes" or "no".
Jungkook didn't know if he'd ever get over the dark feeling he got when he saw his parents nowadays. The small feeling of betrayal when they looked at him with that look, as if they were guilty.
Jungkook thought they wouldn't have to be guilty if they had just believed him.
Jungkook partly hoped he wouldn't hold on to these dark feelings for long.
But only his Sunshine could really help with that.
