JACKSON
He heard the door creak and saw the tall silhouette of Bambam as he was trying to get into the bedroom. They have already turned the lights off; Mark is already sleeping on the other side of the room. He motioned for Bam to join him in bed by waving his cellphone at him.
Bambam walked quietly to Jackson's side of the bedroom, making sure not to make unnecessary noises so as not to wake their eldest. Jackson scooted over to give Bambam enough room.
"Hi," he greeted Bambam as the other went to lie down beside him.
"Hello Jack, are you feeling okay?" Bambam questioned while he tried to find a more comfortable position beside Jackson.
"Yeah, it's just that I called my Mom today and she said she misses me. You know how it goes," Jackson told Bambam, while also trying to scoot over to be able to give Bambam more room to move. He did not expect Bambam to turn on his side though, face him and wrap an arm around his waist.
"Uhmm. Yeah, I know. But always go back to the reason why we're here Jack. Remember your pep talk?" Bambam asked with a smile evident on his voice even though Jackson could not clearly see his face.
"Yeah, yeah. I remember. All of it," he said. Jackson is finding it hard to concentrate on the conversation, not when he can feel Bambam's breath on his face, not when he can feel the arm snaked around his waist and not when Bambam is clearly trying to comfort him by moving closer and pressing his face on his chest. Jackson could not think straight. All he could think about at that moment is how easy it would be to lift Bambam's chin, look straight into the other's eyes and collect what he had been craving for he does not know how long - a kiss. Just one kiss. He felt Bambam move all of a sudden and he found himself staring at his friend's face again, now illuminated by his lit up cellphone screen.
"I know what we should do. We should listen to a song. I love this song. You'll love this too," Bambam enthusiastically whispered, still concern about waking up Mark with the noise.
"Uhh, no thank you. You are going to make me listen to the same song again. Will it be the same song we listened to on the way home earlier? I think I already have the lyrics of that song memorized," Jackson said.
"Noooo. This is a different song. And stop complaining Jack. You'll like this one. And as if I don't know - you secretly love all the songs I force on you. Don't even try to deny it, puhlease," Bambam cheekily told him. Jackson tried to stifle a laugh but could not help it; he burst out laughing loud enough to stir Mark awake.
"Hey, you two! Seriously?! Go to sleep!" Mark grumpily muttered before covering his face with a pillow.
"Sorry, Mark-hyung," Bambam said, chastised. "Jack, be quite, okay? We don't want to disturb Mark-hyung's sleep," Bambam whispered.
"Okay," Jackson whispered back but not before rolling his eyes. He has always been close to Mark and considers the older one of his best friends. He knows Mark isn't really going to get mad at them but for some reason, Bambam has always been careful around their oldest group member.
"Right, what's this song?" he proceeded to ask Bambam.
'Oh, here - put this on," Bambam said handing him the earpiece. Jackson put it on and waited for Bambam to play the song. He didn't know what the song was but he knew it is not a new song - definitely not something Bambam normally listens to.
"Wait, pause. Why are we listening to a pop song from when we were just toddlers? Really Bam?" he asked.
"I said not to complain right? And besides, I was maybe a toddler then but not you. This song was released in 2000. Just listen, stay quite." Bambam countered and continued playing the song. They both stayed silent and listened to the song. It finished playing but then, as in real Bambam fashion, the song is on repeat so it just looped and played for the second time. Jackson took the opportunity to study the other boy - from the curve of his neck to his jawline that is now starting to get more pronounced since Bambam has started to lose his teenage chubby cheeks, to his well-formed pouty lips, his expressive eyes, long eyelashes. Jackson knows he could go on and on, he could recite poems about the beauty that is Bambam and he will never grow tired. He realized that Bambam is quietly singing along to the song which is now on its third loop.
"When the visions around you
Bring tears to your eyes
When all that surround you
Are secrets and lies
I'll be your strength
I'll give you hope,
Keeping your faith when it's gone
The one you should call,
Who's standing here all along..."
Jackson closed his eyes and let Bambam's voice and the song playing from his earpiece drown out the world. He let the words Bambam was singing wash away all his worries. Oh, how he hopes Bambam means the words he's currently singing. How he wished this is really Bam's promise to him. He wished for this to be true and that's the last thing he was thinking of before sleep finally overcame him.

A Song for You
Fanfiction"I love you, Jack," Bambam whispered and in the quiet of the night, it felt like he just yelled the words out for everybody in the world to hear. He took in a deep breath, looked at Jackson once again and said, "Goodnight. I'll see you tomorrow."
