*Cyrene's POV*
_
Shay didn't come yet. I've been waiting for him for that past 5 mins. It was our special day. No, not our anniversary, it was the day he had the guts to send me a huge text telling me that he liked me which I then had replied with 'Umm...I like you too but I don't wanna ruin the friendship'. Then, of course we started dating even though I didn't want to ruin the friendship.
Yesterday, he promised me that he's gonna meet me at the park that I am in right now. It has dazzling dark green trees all around it, it looks as though it is a sky with dark clouds hovering all around a land. I sit on the bench and patiently wait for him. I honestly didn't like waiting, I actually feel like a girl who sent a text and didn't get a reply. And that, feels terrible.
I took out my phone, attempting to call Shay whose number was saved as 'bestfriend/loverboy'. Yes, that might be a bit immature but that suits him cause he is my bestfriend apart from Courtney and of course my lover boy.
"Hey beautiful." I hear his voice. I look up to meet with exotic brown eyes and stood up. He is wearing a simple grey v next t-shirt with dark jeans, it suits him just right. His flexed muscles were pretty visible. Apart from all this, he is brightly grinning at the sight of me and the smile that he has can easily make a girl swoon.
His hand goes up to my face but before it his hand could come in contact with my cheeks, I shove it away as realisation hit me. He was supposed to bring flowers for me but he forgot.
"Well, someone forgot something precious." I speak, while crossing my arms and from what I can see, he had already seen it coming. He smiled and said, "I don't recall forgetting you at all."
That, is what made me wanna grin like an idiot. I can't possibly let him know that that affected me in any way but I'm pretty sure that a smile slipped out of my face as a reflex.
"You forgot something precious for the precious." I manage to say.
Wait, does that even make sense? I honestly don't know.
"Right, the flowers!" He said, as if he isn't telling that to me but to himself.
Then he looks at me and smiles, as if waiting for something magical to happen whereas I am perplexed. I raise my eyebrows, wanting for an apology. As far as I know, he's probably gonna make up a stupid excuse for that.
After a while, he looked a bit dissatisfied. "Ahem! The flowers!"
Whoever he said it to, or whatever change that was supposed to bring, it didn't work nor did it bring change. Or so I think because of the sudden embarrassment that flashed over his face.
He clears his voice and then with an over exaggurative tone, he exclaimed once again, "The flowers!"
My eyes twitch at that. What is he trying to do? Is he crazy? People around us give weird looks after the sudden outburst of 'The flowers!'
Once again, embarrassment mixed with disappointment flashed over his face. He looks at my weirded out expression and gives a sigh. I still don't get it. This makes him look like a lunatic. He face palms and then looks at me with a sorry expression. Suddenly, his gaze goes behind me and his face lights up.
It doesn't even take a second for his sullen face to light up. Following his gaze, I look behind me and find children, yes, children of 6 and 7 holding bouquets of flowers with flushed faces and bright smiles. Some who are in awe, some with sorry faces for keeping Shay waiting, some with a bit of difficulty flashed on their face.
