Have you ever had one of those days were you screw something up so badly, that you want to die? Yeah. Same here.

I was cooking some grits for a duchess that was staying for a little girl's night Queen Kendra was hosting when I got called over to see if I could cover for a maid named Sara who had gotten sick. I gradually agreed to take her shift for the night. All she had to do is mop the kitchen. I completely forgot about the grits. Halfway finished with Sara's task, I smelled something burning. That's when I remembered the cooking grits. I dropped the mop and scrambled into the kitchen to see the entire stove they were cooking on was on fire! I franticly poured a bucket of water onto the burning area and doused the flames.

"Servant Kala!" screamed the head servant, Servant Yulak. She was tall for a woman prisoner, 6'4''. She had dark brown hair tied up inside of fishnet to keep her hair out of the food. She had a deep scar running down her face from an encounter she had with one of The Forgotten. That encounter landed her in prison. All of the servants were terrified of her, but not me.

I walked  up to her, back straight and chin up, something none of the other servants dared to do.

"Yes, Servant Yulak?" I asked.

"Servant Kala, you left the kitchen with food still on the stove  and almost burned the entire kitchen down!" Servant Yulak yelled at me.

"I had helping someone else!" I retorted.

Yulak scoffed. "What, by killing everyone around them?"

A few of the servants gasped while several murmured about how low of a hit that was. None of them cares anyway, they all hate me. I'm the only cyborg in the castle.

I started to walk away, but turned around and slapped her.

Silence.

A low growl came from Servant Yulak's mouth and she punched me in the mouth. Blood leaked from my busted lip and I charged. One of the guards came into the kitchen and separated us.

"Get back to work, all of you! Servant Yulak, go to the stables, you'll be cleaning out there for the rest of today! As for you cyborg," He said like cyborg was poisonous. "You will scrub the floor of the ballroom. With a toothbrush!" He said.

Great.

Sent to the ballroom with a bucket of soapy water, and a old scraggly toothbrush, I got to work. Blood dripped from my lip onto my hand. I just wiped it away impatiently. Soon, I started humming. Then full out singing.

I had just finished the chorus when I heard applause from behind me. It was Prince Zalad.
