I ponder the dream, wondering what on Zorflad it meant. I mean, it obviously shows me being locked up in a dungeon for I don't know what, and who the hell the tall man in the black jacket is. Hold on, I need to back it up a little. Never explained about my weirdo premonition crap happening.
Okay, so since my aunt died, I've been having dreams that come true every once in a while. They are never good though, so... For example, I once had a dream about a maid being whipped for stealing a little bit of bread. What my dream didn't tell me is that she would die from it. Or a little girl getting hit with a falling brick. The brick was really thrown at her and she was in a coma for four weeks. She also died. Exactly. You see what's happening now?
I eventually left the idea of sleep behind and left my room to roam the halls quietly. We aren't necessarily supposed to do this, but I needed to stretch out my tiny claustrophobic body.
So I wandered through the ballroom I cleaned and through the halls before the clock in the nearest hall to my room stated that it was now 5 a.m. Time to start my tireless day.
I clamber into my room and change into a clean-yet-dirty, plain brown dress and a white apron.
I cleaned the kitchen as a very pissed off Servant Yulak watched and did everything that she could to prolong my chore. She 'accidentally' spilt the soap bucket everywhere after the floor dried, and lingered around to drop things on the cleaned floors.
As I turned back to get the now-dirty water bucket to return it to it's rightful place when I saw Yulak blocking my way to it.
"Excuse me," I politely said. "I need to put that up."
Her ape-like face stared at me from at least 6 inches higher than my height. She simply scowled at me, and shuffled to the side a little. I thanked her, then bent down to pick up the bucket when I was tripped and stumbled into the bucket of dirty water, spilling it everywhere. I growled low in my throat, and stood up, my black hair soaked with dirty, soapy water.
I gathered my items and began to calmly walk away, when a large hand grabs a handful of my wet, black hair and yanks me backwards, sending me sprawling to the floor.
Yulak glares at me from her 6'4'' height and sends a bare foot (servants aren't allowed to wear shoes) into my stomach.
I groan and ball up, pain flaring through my stomach like fire. She bends down and punches me in the nose, causing a deep pain to cover my nose, and blood pours all over me. I can tell instantly that it needs stitches.
Servant Yulak stands up to prepare another kick to my gut, when I hear a familiar voice echo through the hall, leaking protectiveness and anger.
"Servant Yulak, I would greatly advise that you leave now and let Miss Kala return to her duties." The words flowed off the tongue of Prince Zalad. I slowly and painfully turned my head to where Yulak and Prince Zalad stood, in a staring contest.
Yulak grumbles under her breath and shuffles out of the hallway, as Prince Zalad, calm and collected, strides over to me.
"Miss Kala, are you able to stand?" He asks, the words sounding like honey dripping from his mouth. I must be in a lot of pain.
Painfully, I shake my head.
He sighs, and, quite suddenly, scoops me up into his arms, acting as if I didn't weigh 150 pounds, mostly from all the metal in my body.
The pain continues to affect my consciousness, and I eventually fade into a dreamless sleep.
