Put me to sleep

"No stimulators after 9 pm,

No staring at any screen that emits light, post dinner.

Try to fall asleep by 11 pm and you will start to feel better".

The first day I cut myself some slack and convinced my mind that I will start going to sleep at time from tomorrow.

At day 1 I cut myself some slack, because habits don't change in a day,

Scrolled my phone till 11pm

And in darkness I lay.

I tossed and turned,

But sleep didn't come

So after 45 minutes I pull out my laptop

And hit play

At day 2 I made some more progress,

I didn't pick up my laptop

But after tossing and turning for 45 minutes

I pick up a book

And tossed and turned the pages.

At day 3 I tried harder,

Even told my father to tell me a bed time story

But the plot holes bothered me

More than the abrupt happily ever after.

I tossed and turned some more and

Picked up the cell phone once again to scroll.

It's day 3 and I m still waiting for tomorrow

I need some sleep to borrow.
