(Do You Want To Build A Snowman? by Frozen. (VERY RECOMMENDED!!))

(Y/N) burst off, wanting everyone to stop. Her eyes flooded with tears, and calls of her name ran through the halls. She locked herself in a small room in the attic, where she huddled into the corner, crying. Downstairs, she could hear the yelling of countries. They all blamed each other, not themselves for her disappearance. All she did was cry, shaky breaths exiting her mouth as she shook herself.

"Why don't they get it?" She asked herself, to then hear a knock on the door. "Nobody's here!" She called, bundling up in a blanket she found.

"Bella?" Romano's voice went through the door, causing the young country to perk her head up. She stared at the door, unable to move. "Are you-a okay?" Why was Romano being this nice? Did he actually care about her? "Please..."

She began sobbing, confused on what to do. He could have just been sent to spy for the others. Getting colder, she sat on the old bed, probably made for a little girl a long time ago. She curled into it, head pounding and aching, yelling at her to stop.

"(Y/N), please... I'm sorry." He apologized sincerely, putting his hand on the door. "Do you-a... Want to be alone?" He asked this time.

Romano...

She thought to herself, letting him hang on the end of the conversation. It wasn't really a conversation, more of him trying to be kind for once.

"Lovino?" She asked. "I-I don't want to be alone... I'm scared..." (C/N) admitted, watching the day turn into night.

"Bella, if you're-a scared, I need to comfort you. I can't exactly do-a that if the door's locked." he told her. She touched the handle gently after leaning over, the metal piece shifting and clicking. She crawled back on the bed, Romano entering a minute later. He shut the door again, locking it. He knew this wasn't the time to be his normal self, so he sat down on the bed, trying not to say something snarky.

"Lovino..." She gave him a hug, shaking at the noises coming from the outside world. The cold breeze interrupted her, causing her to shiver. He set her back on the bed, shutting the doors of the window. He moved the gold colored lock sideways, putting it in the lock. He closed the red curtains, returning to her.

"There's-a nothing to be scared-a of." He purred soothingly, pulling the curled up (Y/N) in his lap. "I'm-a here for you..." Lovino wished they could stay that way forever, him holding her while she drifted to sleep.

Once she was asleep, he lay her down on the bed, pulling the blanket back up on her. He smiled at her, tears stinging his eyelids. She deserved someone better than him. He stood up, making his way across the wooden floor, trying not to make a lot of noise with his shoes. He turned the lock again, opening it slowly. He walked out, carefully closing the door behind him. He leaned against the door for a bit, thinking. He wiped his tears, going downstairs.

"Everyone be quiet." He ordered, not too loudly. All countries focused on South Italy. "She's asleep, so I suggest that you don't wake her up." He approached England. "You like (Y/N), right?" He asked him seriously, not adding 'scone bastard' afterwards.

"O-of course..." He trailed off, confused at why Romano came to him. He straightened his bowtie and blue vest, green eyes meeting Lovi's brown ones.

"You-a have to be with her." He ordered. "I-I love her more-a than anything, but she doesn't deserve me. You're the only-a one who is capable, and I trust you with her." Lovino put his hands on Arthur's shoulders. "You can-a do this for me, right?"

England nodded. "Yes, I can do this." He gave him a look that said, 'you-can-trust-me.'

"Wait a second, why do you get to choose?" America interrupted. His arms were folded, his eyebrow raised.

"Roma has... been in love with her for quite a long time now... He loves her the most. He's willing to give her up to protect her." Spain gave him a smile, and Romano nodded back, as if thanking him. Nations all around agreed, telling England to take good care of the sweet country asleep upstairs.

~Le Time Skip~

It has been 3 months since the incident, and (Y/N) felt better. No more countries fighting for her. The annual World Ball was occuring, and she waved to countries, arm holding Arthur's. She spotted Romano, who was sulking in the corner. She broke away from England, telling him that she would be back in a bit.

"Romano?" She approached cautiously, (E/C) eyes twinkling. Her gown was a beautiful (F/C) that complimented her orbs. He looked up, eyes widening at the sight of her. "Hello." She smiled shyly. "You seemed lonely."

"Oh uh... Yes... I have to-a tell you something." He took her hands. "I'm-a going away for a while."

"What?" She asked her best friend, voice cracking. "Y-You're going back t-to Italy aren't you?" Tears welled in her eyes.

"I'm so sorry, bella..." He set a hand on her sulking shoulder, trying not to cry as well. "S-someone I really love is with some-a one else... I can't-a bear to see it anymore..."

"I-I can get y-you w-with them! P-please don't go..." She took in a deep breath. "Wh-who's the lucky girl?"

"Bella, it's you..." He got up, walking outside. She chased after him, moonlight shimmering upon the two.

"R-Romano! W-Wait! P-please!" She grabbed his wrist, trying to get him to stop. He paused, turning to look at her.

"Bella, I'm sorry," he looked like he was going to cry. She pulled him close, kissing him deeply on the lips.

"I-I love you too." She sputtered out shyly. Meanwhile, England, France, and Spain stood in the doorway. "I'm sorry Arthur." She turned to look at him.

"It's alright love. I know you love him." He assured, waving.

And once again, Romano and (C/N) kissed, signalling they were finally together, and forever like Lovino wished.
