If I Die Young

🌹Kimberly POV 🌹

I opened my eyes. I was sitting beside a pool. I had my feet dipped in the side of the pool. I couldn't feel the water inside the pool but I knew it was there, I could hear it.

"Hello?" I called, my raspy voice calling out. It echoed around. There was no reply, just empty space. I had no idea where I was but I had changed.

The sky was a liquidy mixture of blue and purple. There were no stars.

The water reflected the sky but it had stars in it.

Suddenly, the scene changed and I was in bright, yellow light. Was I dying?

I didn't know what was going to happen but when I opened my eyes again, I was in a hospital room.

I looked around and saw doctors frantically running around the bed. "We're losing her!" One shouted. I had no idea who they were talking about. But suddenly, as if a cork had been pulled off a bottle, my shoulder began to bleed. As well as my leg.

I limped over to the bed and did not like what I saw. In the bed was me. It's strange. You know how they say you wouldn't recognize yourself? It's true. I almost didn't recognize myself.

I saw three people run into the door and my brothers looked like they had been thrown into a dumpster. They looked bad. Their clothes were messed up and eyes red with tears.

I didn't like seeing them this way. Suddenly, the girl stepped forward, she demanded to help me. Suddenly I was being wheeled away. The yellow light flashed again. I was beside the pool once more.

This time, my chest started to bleed. I was dying. I knew I was. But I wanted that water so bad! I crawled over to it and jumped in. The water turned red.

I started to cry. I wanted to go back to my brothers. I wanted to protect them again.

Suddenly, the water turned gold. A winged figure that looked awfully like the girl came out of the middle of the water and spoke. "We have heard. I am Alexas, guardian. If you are willing to go back to protect your brothers, you are brave and deserve to be returned." She came over and hugged me.

Suddenly, there was a great flash and I opened my eyes once more. I was now lying on a hospital bed.

They said something and I slipped into unconsciousness again.
