I got up the smell of chocolate chip pancakes filling my nose. I smiled as I looked down at the plate in front of me. Elijah sat across from me watching my reaction.

"You can't survive off chocolate chip pancakes Adeline." My smile widened as I stuffed my face with pancakes. Then I remembered last night my appetite seeming to dissipate. I frowned at my food.

"Who was that guy last night Adeline?" I took a sip of the orange juice trying to prolong the conversation. "Adeline, I've been patient with you, but after last night knowing you might be in danger I have to know." I looked up at him then down at my plate.

"It was Damian." He gave me a confused look not understanding probably because I made Damian out to be the guy of my dreams. Elijah grabbed my hand.

"I need you to show me. Show me what he did," So I did, because it was easier than talking about it. Maybe showing him would give him a sense of how I feel. I closed my eyes remembering that night.

"Come on Damian, we have to go back you drank way too much." I said tugging at Damian's arm taking him away from the nosy cabin. We tracked through the forest. I couldn't quite remember how we'd gotten here Damian had took me. But he was way to drunk to remember. Damian stumbled and we both fell to the ground.

"I want you Adeline." His eyes turned red as I pushed against him. This isn't him he's just drunk. "You always thought you were too good for me. You thought you were good for vampires to drink from you." He pinned me down tearing at my clothes. I went to scream he put his hand over my mouth smiling.

"I like a tough meal." He was hurting me he didn't realize his own strength. Maybe this was his true self. I felt fear and panic swimming inside me. "I'm going to drink your blood till your barely conscious so you can't move. Then I'm going to take you Adeline." I kept struggling against him but he hit me hard I felt the blood drip from my face as my pants were removed. A tear falling down the side of my face, how could he do this to me? I thought he loved me. I felt my panties being slid down my legs. Before he could continue I felt his weight get knocked off me as a big blur passed. I sat up a wolf was on top of Damian scratching at him. I took off running deeper into the forest. Collapsing I began to sob the wolf coming up to me. Great I was going to die, the wolf stopped in front of me bowing down whimpering. I got up slowly getting closer to it. This wolf saved me; I got on top of the wolf. The wolf ran through the woods taking me to a house. It was my house; this wolf helped me get home.

Elijah didn't say anything just sat quietly absorbing the information. He finally spoke breaking the silence.

"Is that why you have a tattoo of a wolf?" I nodded my head.

"That wolf saved my life, I wanted to remember it. I had a vampire who worked on the down low do it. That's why it's so accurate." He nodded his head something bothering him. He got up leaving me alone in my room.

Hours later I got dressed putting on a crop top and low riding shorts. I went downstairs happy to see Alaric had returned. We sat in the living room together.

"Why is your dad so hard on Elijah?" It was a question that had been on my mind since that day in the garden but not something I wanted to ask Elijah.

"He never told you his big ole' secret?" I got a little nervous what kind of secret would Elijah have that his dad would hate him for? "I don't know if I should tell you, not really my place." I put my bottom lip out at Alaric pouting. He pulled out a bracelet from his pocket coming over to me he clasped it around my wrist.

"I'm not going to tell you, this bracelet will let you see for yourself." Tyler came into the living room.

"It is time to eat." We followed him into the dining room each of us sitting down at the spot he pointed to. Then he disappeared into the kitchen. Elijah walked in sitting next to me. I didn't look up at him I was to busy gawking at the lasagna in front of me. Oh my god, I love lasagna. I devoured half of it my mouth still full.
