Inside the Plane; City Airport, London

Above our seats, Scorpius and I put our carry-ons in the little storage area the plane gave us. Scorpius took the seat next to the window and I took the outside seat. In front of both of our chairs was a screen. Once I saw everyone else was settled, I saw a lady in uniform and called her over to us.

"May I help you with anything?" She asks.

"Yes, please. How do we work this screen thing?" I ask casually.

She giggles a little, thinking I'm joking. She must've seen the serious look on my face and stopped. "It's an iPad. You just click the circular button and you can play games and watch movies on them through the provided headphones."

"What kind of movies?" I hear Scorpius ask.

"Any genre you'd like. If you have a favorite movie, you can search for it."

I turn and see Scorpius' face light up, clearly excited. "Thank you for your help." I say to the lady and she walks away to the other girls who work on this plane, giggling to them probably at how idiotic we probably made ourselves look.

"This is amazing. It's like Muggle magic-" He stops suddenly, catching his words. "Okay, both of us should stop saying 'Muggles' and 'magic', it's the only way to sound like... what's the word I'm looking for?"

"Human?" I suggest.

"Yeah, that's probably it." Scorpius absorbs himself in his iPad, switching between playing games and watching a movie as the flight attendent had suggested both of those ideas.

Suddenly, a voice says "Welcome aboard City Airport planes. Thank you for choosing to fly with us today. Please watch as your flight attendants in the isles explain our emergency procedures."

I notice the lady who had helped us was in the aisle of the plane demonstrating the emergency procedures. At least I know for sure now that she does work here, unless she's just dressed like them and trying to impersonate them, but I doubt that.

I look to my right and see Scorpius is still consumed in his movie. I give him a nudge. He takes off his headphones and asks "What?"

I put one finger to my lips to quiet him. "They're showing what to do to escape if something bad happens while we are on here. We should probably pay attention."

"Oh, yeah. Sorry." He puts his headphones down on his lap and pays attention to the flight attendants, as they're called.

As precautions are being given, I notice the plane starts to move. I jump, surprised by this. I notice Scorpius flinch beside me. It doesn't feel like we are in the air though. Aren't airplanes supposed to fly?

I look past Scorpius through the window and notice that we are still on the ground, which is confusing. It feels like we are in a Muggle car, but just bigger and, for the most part, slower.

"Thank you for listening to those precautions," A voice says from the speakers. "Please buckle your seat belts if you haven't done so already. We are about to take off. Please enjoy your flight."

The flight attendants walk down to the isle to the front of the plane where they all have designated seats. Soon after they buckle themselves up, I feel the plane gaining speed.

"How do you put this on?" Scorpius asks, pointing to the seat belt.

"Do you not remember anything from Muggle Studies?" I ask, buckling his seat belt for him. I realize that mine isn't buckled either, so I hastily connect the two pieces of leather and metal.

The planes speed increases rapidly now. I look out the window just in time to see us start to incline. "Woah." I hear Scorpius exclaim. Several other young children have a similar reactions. We keep travelling further and further up until we are level with the clouds.

With the excitment of flying passing, Scorpius puts his headphones back in and the people on the screen begin to move at the touch of a button.

I remember suddenly that we have almost an eight hour flight ahead of us. I decide to put the headphones on and pick a random movie to watch.

Sometime during the movie, I feel Scorpius' head on my shoulder. He had taken his headphones off and had fallen asleep. I can't blame him, we were up at 5:00am London time to catch our flight. Deciding to copy him, I turn my movie off and separate myself from my headphones. I lay my head on his light blonde hair and fall asleep myself.
