They say that you feel the most lonely
In a crowded room, surrounded by people.
But what about the other times?
Alone on the street at night,
Only one awake at 3 in the morning.
The thing about loneliness,
Is that it's not always bad.
It's nice to be the only one in the snack aisle,
the only one in a bathroom,
the only one in a fast food restaurant.
It's pleasant, comforting, intriguing.
You are the only one to witness the stars.
You alone hear the buzz of fluorescent lights.
You can witness the expansion of your lungs.
You experience the world around you fully.
How bad is that?
How bad is exploring yourself?
The universe is different when you are alone.
Remember a crowded school hallway?
Remember an empty hall? After hours?
Remember a full movie theater? Empty?
When you are lonely,
Believe that it is a gift,
Believe it is an opportunity,
Believe it was meant to be,
Believe in you.
