Chapter 5. Brothers

"So you barged into my room to tell me you had cupcakes?" Maverick and Seraphina sat at the kitchen counter while eating cupcakes. Mav had burst into her room while Ryan was there, Mav clearly saw him but just said he had cupcakes, like he never saw him. Ryan has a strange power.
"But of course! Do you not like red velvet?"
"No, red velvet is my favorite, I was just wondering why you got them."
"I'm sorry about yelling at you," he frowned, "you are your own person and I thought I would make it up to you."
"You didn't have to," she sat the cupcake she was eating down on her plate, "I mean, you found me on the road, in the middle of the night, and took me in, I appreciate that." She really did, he is the one that saved her, the one that offered his home to her, the one that had again saved her, from Ryan, the one that worried about her safety and lectured her about street-wielding and the people involved.
Mav put his head down and closed his eyes like he was in pain, "My brother is coming to visit," sighing a letter appeared on the counter, Sera picked it up at read it,
Dear Big Brother that claims he is so much better then me,
I am gonna come to visit and you're gonna deal with it. Don't forget to bring some girls for us to hang out with *wink wink nudge nudge* Also I better be sleeping in that extra bedroom you've got.
Love, The obviously better brother
Smiling slightly she patted his shoulder and his relaxed a little, "It'll be fine, I'm going to be out of the house a lot or locked up in my room, I'll be scarce." It was cute the he worried about her this much. "You're little brother sounds nice."
"Okay, that said, he will probably be here around 8:00 PM."
She turned and looked at the clock, it was 7:55, "He is going to be here in five minutes?"
"Yeah," he put his head in his hands.
"Okay? There is no need to be worried." Already confused by Ryan and his dealings, this just made things even more confusing.
Maverick stayed quiet as he got up took their plates and began washing them.
"Mav, it will be alright, I'll go hide in my room."
"That isn't really what I'm worried about," he dried the dishes, put them away, and turned towards her, leaning against the counter, "You could have already met him."
She counted how many people she knew, "How?"
"The street-wielding community." The street-wielding community? Sera only met like everyone there after her brawl. She looked at the clock and two minutes had pasted.
A loud pop sounded, and Ryan was standing next to Mav, why the hell is he here? "Sorry I'm late brother."
Wait a second, "Ryan you are two minutes early."Ryan is Mav's little brother?
"Evanna darling," grinning maliciously Ryan walked towards her, "Mav it looks like you did bring a girl, are you finally having fun?"
"Stay away from Eva." Maverick's face was twisted in rage.
