[It was a chilly summers night. The tree branches shivered as the cold breeze engulfed them. Veronica was lying in bed, listening to music when her door suddenly burst open]
*Roni*
"Roni, come on we are leaving tomorrow, you have to finish packing!" Nessa urged.
"I know, I know," I spoke. " I just can't believe we are leaving tomorrow. I'm going to miss everything about it here in California."
"Same, but we have to. Now come on, we have to finish deciding what we are taking from the basement." Vanessa walked out, and the strong wind coming from the window slammed the door shut.
Ever since we found out Mom lost her full time job, I knew it would be hard, but I never thought we would have to move, in order to stay off the streets.
I threw all of my Star Wars figurines in one box, and comic books in another. "I guess this is really happening," I whispered. I stared out the glossy white window of my bedroom. "I guess this is it." I grabbed the boxes off the polished floors and walked out of the cold, shallow room. The door slammed behind me.
