Soon enough I found Kenji on the side talking to a bunch of Hef's playboy bunnies and that girl with the short black hair.
"Hey! It's Bruno!" He shouted out and I could probably guess how many drinks he had since we parted. "Hey man, how's Tina- I was meaning to go say hi to her--"
"--Tina's busy." I said putting my empty glass on a tray of a passing waiter. "Hey, I'm Bruno" I smiled at the girl I saw earlier offering my hand.
"Deana and I know who you are" She smiled back shaking it.
"So what do you do?" Though I could probably guess. "Let me guess, someone as gorgeous as you has to be a model."
"I am"
"How 'bout I get us some more drinks?" Kenji said putting his hand on my shoulder.
"Bring 'em in. Just like old times, right?"
It must have been about two hours later and I still had the same drink Kenji got me all those hours ago half full in my hand. Everyone else was having more fun than me, I lost track of where Tina and that surfer guy was about an hour ago and I kept getting these...pictures in my head. What if they left and they went back to her place? Why should I care? She obviously doesn't.
"Hey, how about we get out of here?" Deana whispered into my ear. "I mean, this is all fun and everything but I was hoping we'd get to know each other a little more" She played with the collar of my shirt and I looked at Kenji with the bunnies. Some wing man I was, he was doing fine without me.
I then took a quick sweep around the rest of the party and couldn't catch sight of Tina. I felt that familiar feeling inside me: a mixture of anger, regret...
"Sure."
We said our goodbyes though I wasn't too sure Kenji even heard me and walked outside together. Deana took my hand and I went looking for wherever the hell I parked my car in this sea of automobiles, fucking great. After about a minute of searching I felt her tug my hand pulling me closer to her as she grabbed the sides of my face and pushed her lips onto mine. We must have been at it for about five minutes when I opened my eyes to see...Tina's car.
I just froze. No one was in there or anything but I still pushed Deana away.
"What's wrong?" She asked me looking behind her - course all she saw was a row of cars but I must of looked like I saw a ghost.
"No-nothing. I can't do this...I'm sorry you seem like a nice girl and everything but...I just can't do this." I sighed rubbing the back of my neck with my hand.
"Whatever." She just rolled her eyes and walked off.
Hey, that could have gone worse...
I took a cigarette from my pocket and lit it up leaning on the car behind me and I looked back at Tina's car. She was either still here...or she got a ride with Duncan. I closed my eyes at the second option.
"This girl..." I mutter under my breath.
Karma was pretty fucking vengeful. I went from having a chance with Tina and Amelia to having no one. I had to laugh at that. I deserved it.
I heard a car driving near and saw a flash one park about two spaces from Tina's one and out walked Analiese.
She got out of her car taking her Bluetooth piece from her ear and putting it into her purse "Bruno!" She smiled. "Third time's the charm. I knew you'd eventually come to my Christmas Party."
