It was a comfortable silence for the next ten minutes. Tina had fallen asleep on my shoulder almost instantly but it took me a little bit longer. Eventually I drifted off into a dreamless slumber.

It was a nice four hours of sleep until I was so rudely awakened by the fantastic four at six in the fucking morning. I woke up to find Tina on the other end of the couch and we sold our act like the great pretenders we are...and it worked. Not because we were amazing actors but because those four were so drunk they probably didn't even remember their own names.

After a solid minute of Kendra, Phred and Jamareo telling us about what they got up to after we left the club I felt Tina abruptly move my legs from her lap and stand up which caused the others to go silent.

"I, um...I'm tired." Tina stammered and I noticed her not look in my direction once. "I'm going to bed but I'll hear about what happened later on, alright?"

"Um, yeah, sure." Kendra smiled but I could tell she wasn't buying Tina's story but what else would you expect? Kendra was one of Tina's best friends. "She's probably stressed about her job or something" She said to the rest of us. "Her mentor's a bitch. Anyway, I need a long, long shower." Kendra said her byes and retreated up the stairs leaving the three of us guys. Then Jamareo went to his room leaving Phred and I.

"Don't think for a second I buy your excuse" Phred said. I opened my eyes to look at him. "As if you'd wait for us to come back." He got up off his seat put his glass of water on the table between us and laughed. "You're only down here because you're in the doghouse with your lady. Woof, woof."

I did a small sigh of relief and let out a small laugh that meant you're right, you caught me.

Too bad that was only a third of the story, my friend.

I managed to get a few more hours of sleep but decided to give up the more people woke up and went downstairs. Brian and Fara were busy making a shit load of food. Kendra, Jam, Trevor and Phred were probably upstairs knocked out and I decided to nip the bud with Phil about last night.

"Hey" I took a seat across from him as he looked up from his coffee and paper. "...old man." I leaned back on my seat regarding his appearance with a smile.

"Hey, didn't see you when you got back" Phil replied. I hope he knows that was not subtle at all.

"Yeah, maybe half an hour after you guys got back, I dunno. I crashed on the couch."

"Fun night, huh?"

"It was...interesting." I admitted and waited...

"Listen, I'm going to come out and say this–"

"–fina-fucking-lly" I said, I was glad to get rid of this small talk. "Hit me."

"Whatever you're doing or thinking of doing with Tina. Stop." Phil dropped his voice to a whisper and leaned across the table. "I saw the way you were with her last night."

"I was drunk, Phil. I'd be like with you if you were next to me." I easily dismissed it. "We're friends, alright? And to be honest it's none of your business whether or not anything is going on between me and Tina."

"Okay." Phil laughed and held his hands up in surrender. "But actually it is my business. Just like it's Kendra's, Phred's, Jam's, Brian's, Raye's... You see all this?" Phil pointed around at the kitchen where Fara threw a grape from across the room right into Brian's mouth to a round of applause from Kenneth and Raye then to the stairs where footsteps were tredding very carefully, Phred and Kendra were the culprits and looked the true definition of hung-over. Raye rushed to the cabinet above the kitchen counters and took what looked like painkillers to them.
