Laura's POV

Vanessa just stands there with a creepy-looking smile on her face. I'm not going to lie, it almost made me want to kick her, considering all the pain I've just been through... but she was my sister. No matter how terrible I felt, I had to try to let it go and keep it locked inside because I know it wouldn't do any good. I know it wouldn't bring them back to me. I know I would never get to see them again.

Without noticing, Vanessa swiftly shouts into my ear, "YES! ANYTHING TO GET OUT OF THIS GARBAGE OF A TOWN!" I say nothing after that, I just scamper into the palladium-rectangle called the door and pack all of my belongings.

~the next day~

It was the next morning. 'Oh another perfect day' I blurted in my head, knowing I was never going to be the cheery Laura I was ever again. I scurry out of my bed and my eyes examine the tall maple-wood dresser. They peered all the way to the right, and they stopped, when I noticed something that would make them rain puny droplets of water. There was a gorgeous picture of my parents on their wedding day. I was right, my heart started beating with all it's might. Plus, my bones started wobbling, making me feel sorry for myself. The pearly-white teeth in my mouth seemed like they were chattering at about a billion times a second. Even though it seemed impossible, it definitely felt like it. I wouldn't be surprised if I fainted right on the spot. I have nothing else to live for anyway... You have no idea how horrible it feels to lose your loved ones. You feel like you just want to die inside. It's like a punch to the face, it's like a kick to the stomach, It's like a million stabs to the heart. But, I know I have to let go or else this would all just get worse. Although, that was the problem. I couldn't let go. My body couldn't take the pain of never seeing my parents again, so I quickly paced out of my room as fast as I could with everything I had in me.

When I raced down the apricot-colored stairs, I could peer a shadow coming from the living room couch. As I scampered to get a closer look, I realized it was Vanessa. She was crying. I swiftly raced over to comfort her, because I know she needed someone by her side. I know she needed a shoulder to cry on. I know if I was ever in this situation, I'd always have Vanessa to count on.

I swiftly took her into my arms and gave her a nice, warm, sister-like hug. She really needed it. It was nice to know if I was going through a lot of pain, my sister would be the one to cheer me up.

"Sis, you're too sweet. You don't have to comfort me, just leave me be." Vanessa blurted. I could actually feel the tears coming through her voice. How long has she been crying? Just no. I would always be right there by her side in her time of need. I hope she knew that.

"Can you imagine what would happen if are dreams became true?" I asked Vanessa, curious to know if she knew the answer.

I could examine Vanessa wipe her tears away as I spoke. "What do you mean Laura?" She inquired me, in a sweet sister-like voice.

"What I mean is, Spencer and Jason know that we're no match for them. They think if we were ever in a fight, we would lose. Wouldn't it feel great to prove them wrong?" I asked Vanessa, hoping she would feel the same way. Fortunately, she understood.

"Yes, it would be amazing to show them up. But, they're in jail. There's no way to show them what we're made of if we can't even get to them." Vanessa replied back to me, making me put my game face on.

"True, but who knows if they're going to try to escape again?" I questioned Vanessa, making her feel scared and violated. I wasn't trying to do that.

"Oh no sis! They're coming for us!" Vanessa quickly went back to crying. I hated seeing her this way. In these type of situations, Vanessa would always be the one to comfort me. Apparently, things are different now.

"Don't worry about a thing sis. I called United States Airlines and got us a flight to Los Angeles at 12:00 P.M. We're going to be moving in with our Uncle Jim and Aunt Leah, the detective gave me their address." I responded back to Vanessa. I'm glad I did because as soon as I said that, she started smiling from ear to ear. She smiled so big I didn't know mouths could even expand that big. I loved to see my big sis smile.

"Thanks sis! You're the best! You've probably just saved our lives!" Vanessa exclaims, feeling like the luckiest girl in the whole entire world.

"I know. It's 8:00 right now, so I have some things to do before we move halfway across the country." I say, taking a look outside the window, viewing the special place that I was leaving.

"So do I. Text me at about 9:30 so we'll drive to the airport." Vanessa replies to me. I could tell she couldn't wait to get out of this horrible town. Considering what she said to me yesterday.

~a little later that day~

It was now 9:00. I said all my farewells to my school, my friends and everyone. Unfortunately, Harry and Raini didn't take it too well. I had to drag Raini off my leg and stop Harry from kissing me. It was all too much to bare. I climbed the tree next to my house, and sat. I took one last look at what was the town I lived in my entire life. I climbed off the tree and jumped in the air, making it seem like I was touching the clouds with my hands. All the memories, all the depressing moments, all the amazing moments, everything. That soon will be gone. Even if I have to move to California, I will always look back. What's that I hear? Oh, my heart. My Shattered Heart.
