Chapter 13

"Dinner's Ready!" Stormie called.

Rocky comes skipping into the kitchen like a little girl. "Oooh! Lasagna! I get the first bite!" He screams.

"No you don't, I'm the youngest so I do!" Ryland yells to Rocky.

"That doesn't even make sense Ry." Riker tells him.

"Well, whatever. I've been a good son. Now give me that spoon." Ryland dives across the table for it.

"If you boys don't stop you're going to kill the lasagna." Mark states.

"Yeah, especially around Laura and Vanessa. They've only been here a few hours and they already know how crazy you are." Rydel tells him as she grabs the spoon out of his hands.

"Hey, they are bound to find out sometime. Besides, aren't we all?" Ryland takes a big glob of lasagna and shoves it in his face.

"Ew.." Rocky blurts while covering his eyes with a napkin.

"I'm telling you, Ross is insane. He's a total jerk face, idiot, freak, sucker, slu-" Vanessa stops Laura in the middle of her mean comment.

"I'm telling you, this is all in your head. You should like him, there is a chance for you guys to be in a relationship. You're the same age. Hey, we would both be dating Lyn-" Vanessa tells Laura.

"Ever say that again, and I'll look for the closest funeral home for you. Okay." Laura points her finger at Vanessa.

"Sorry... But he really isn't that bad." Vanessa runs to the table.

Laura rolls her eyes.

"I'm telling you. Laura is the worst. She's rude, stubborn, cares for nobody but herself, childish, slu-" Ross tells Ratliff.

"Whoa. She's not bad. She's very sweet to me and I like her. Not like like her I mean, that's crazy. The only girl I would possibly like would be-" Ratliff gets cut off by Ross.

"Rydel?" Ross challenges him.

"Shut up, but give Laura a chance." Ratliff runs away from him.

Ross rolls his eyes.

"Dinner looks really good, Stormie." Laura tells Stormie.

"Thanks sweetie, I heard about your parents and I am so sorry. If there's anything I can do to make you feel at home just tell me." Stormie smiles at Laura.

"No worries. I have Vanessa and besides I already feel at home." Laura lies and fake smiles.

Vanessa whispers to her. "You will feel at home soon."

Laura goes to sit down and Ross notices her. He quickly picks the seat empty next to her.

"Why are you sitting next to me?" Laura questions him.

"Because I can. And this is usually my seat anyway." Ross plays with her.

Laura rolls her eyes.

"Just avoid me and I'll avoid you."

"Gladly, but I think I was a little closer." Ross pushes his chair so he's right on her chair.

Laura ignores him.

They all sit in silence watching the Ross and Laura fight.

"So," Rydel breaks the silence. "How about them apples? Really good, huh."

"Oh, so now all of the sudden we're the band Fruit Talk." Ryland tells her.

"Um, I need to go to the bathroom." Laura states.

"I need to go too." Ross responds.

"Ross and Laura are going to the bathroom together. Oh my god. Someone shoot me." Rocky says and kisses Laura on the cheek.

"Get off of me weirdo." Laura pushes Rocky away.

"Oh, so now I'm a weirdo. How can you treat your boyfriend like that?" Rocky questions her.

"You are not my boyfriend, Ross you're weird, and leave me alone." Laura speaks.

"Wow so much drama the first night. Maybe we should break this up." Riker tells Vanessa and she agrees.

"Okay, the next person who touches Laura is sleeping in the backyard with no clothes on." Riker tells.

With that, Rocky and Ross leave her alone and Maia bursts the door open.
